CD-2 and Paint? Aluminum?

Ok so I actually found some CD-2 that everyone is raving about in Elizabeth City NC and bought 3 cans. My question is how does it do on paint? I have custom painted cam covers and a custom painted intake system on my Mustang. Will it harm these? I hope that it works well on my Prelude and my wife's Camry but has anyone used it on painted parts? Also how does it do on polished aluminum? I have a lot of that too under the hood. Thanks guys.

I too finally found this product at Autozone Friday afternoon, and tried it out on my wife's G35 coupe and my 540 with excellent results. I don't have a long history to draw on, but it didn't do any obvious damage to the underhood body paint on either car, and it didn't do any damage to my repainted valve covers. So I would decalre it safe based upon my singular use and experience. I hope others will share their broader background.

It did such a nice job on ll the black trim under the hood, I'm going to be trying it out on some exterior black trim to see how it works.

I have used CD2 on both factory painted and rattle can painted engine compartment parts with no adverse effects. It's the best thing I've found in my limited experience for engine detailing... just dressing, not a cleaner. One observation is that I have had to wipe more excess product than expected, but this is simply a learning curve.
