CCS Pads for PC..come on in

I think when they first came out they were 5.25" but then they shrunk. :) I'm glad to hear everyone likes them, I will be ordering some soon.

:idea Now there is a reason for manufacturers that advise against washing your pads: "Do not wash because your pad might shrink".
 
Wish you guys would quit pointing out all this good stuff. Had to place an order just now for some CCS pads and backing plate from Danase. Bet these work great with my Menzerna stuff

I going to need a bigger garage.
 
Do you notice the CCS take more or less product than the Edge. Seems it might be more because of the uneven surface.

takes less..they are not as absorbant as the edge pads....seems the edge pads suck it in ...the CCS pads do not as bad...

Thanks. I always thought the Edge pads took a lot more than shown on any of the videos with LC etc. With Menzerna stuff, gets expensive. Looking forward to using less. I was using about 4-5 quarter size 106FF for each pass.
 
this is good. i need yellow and orange ones (for my PC) so Bob will be hearing (or reading) from me soon. I already have the green 6.5 CCS pads and the old(er) 6.5 blue LC ones.
 
So is it a real big deal to get the 5" backing plate if youre a beginner ? I was looking at these pads but Im confused on which plate to get. I would think you would have more even pressure distribution with the 5" as opposed to the 3.5".



Also if you have the 5" pads is it still reasonable to get 4" spot buff pads, or is the 5" pad a good all around pad ?

Everybody benefits from 5" pads, especially beginners, so everybody benefits from 5" (well, 4.75") backing plate. You are correct, plate that is closer to edge of pad will be more efficient.



4" spot buff pads still have their place even if you have 5". 4" pad is "only" 1" less but that is over a third less surface which increases aggresiveness. Not to mention you can still use them in tight areas.
 
I've been looking for 5" pads for my new Festool Rotex 125 and these sound great with all the recommendations! :wow:



They don't seem to be available in Europe so I'm hoping Bob at Danase can ship me some over (please!). :brit

only diff is that the danase CCS are 5" with the black velcro (better) whereas the CG ones are a true 5.25" but with the slightly cheaper white velcro.

CG 6.5" have the same black velcro as Danase's
