CarPro Reload Spray Sealant Failure?

I recently ordered a 16.9 oz ounce of reload directly from the car pro website about two months ago. Two weeks ago I applied it, as per the instructions and how I applied the 2013 version of reload the last two years, minus cutting it with water to cut down on streaks. After my cars first wash post application of reload yesterday with optimum Car Wash at the recommend ratio, I noticed that there was not any beading at all, which is was not typical of the previous version I had of reload. I was pretty curious about why that happened, so I paid attention to the beading today after a rain storm and the same thing happened, no beading at all.

Before I applied the reload, I washed my car, clayed with nanoskin, washed again, dried, and wiped down with car pro eraser. I cannot see what I could have done wrong with this application as it is the same process I used on the older version of reload. I did notice that the current version of reload is noticeably lighter in color compared to the 2013 version which streaked on dark color cars. Before I contact the company, I was wondering if anyone has had this issue in the past? This non beading behavior is not typical of how the product should work, based on my past experience of this product and based on you tube videos of the product and I am wondering if I received a bad batch, not sure if the lighter color has anything to do with it? It is acting like there isn`t any reload product on the car. The code on the bottom of my reset is 09 03 16, so it is only 2 months old. Thanks

Sorry you had bad results....that really stinks to put that much time in and have a product fail.

If it were me I would try one more time and if I had the same results then I would think it`s the product. Reach out to Corey at carpro then and he`ll help get things sorted out for you. He`s a great guy from my experience.

The lighter color has nothing to do with it. It has nothing to do with streakes either. They are still there you just can`t see them on lighter colors.

Things like this are why I stopped using reload. It`s always something. I never had a streaking problem but my biggest concern is how much I had to wipe to get it off the paint. Totally unnecessary. It`s got great water behavior and a glass like finish but the hassle just is not worth it.

Best of luck. Keep us updated.

Does it apply the same, meaning its slickery and whatnot?

I would do a test section, and in the morning spray it with water, or even wash it.

Thanks for the responses. I still have about an ounce or so of the older reload, I am going to wipe down the top of the trunk with eraser and on one half I will apply the older reload and the other half I will apply the new reload and see what happens after a day and then a few days. I did try to post over on the car pro forum yesterday, but my post wasn`t accepted or approved. I will reach out to Corey, it seems my results are not typical. Kinda bummed about it. Both versions applied the same, the new version looked great after I applied it and no streaks, I was all excited about the look until I did my wash, and it appears it is all gone. While looking up this issue, I saw one review on Amazon that stated the the product diminished very quickly, but most of the reviews were pretty positive.

Oh man you guys make me want to just toss those two bottles i got in the trash.

Edit: i had issues on my black car. Its gone now. Used it on silver, no issues that i saw at least.

Hmm.

lol send them my way, not the trash.

Ive been on the edge on getting Reload, because of the complaints. But I gotta say, I was pretty sold on their video of them washing with APC a bunch of times, and it atill kept its beading.

PM me an address I`ll send you two ounces or so and you can be the judge.

But I`m going to donate one of the other bottles to a charity auction

I recommend setting up a test spot, give one half of the hood a real light polish before applying it and keep the other side how you have it now. Try rinsing it shortly after applying it to your paint. Reload doesn`t take any cure period to notice that extreme water behavior, so it should bead like crazy from the start. Then give it a wash with Optimum Car Wash and check the behavior after rinsing again.

This will let you pinpoint any problem areas, the extra polish step with this latest version might be a necessity on your paint, and the quick rinse after applying should tell you if you have a bad batch if the beading is poor from the start on both sides. The soap test will let you know if it`s something about that soap that doesn`t play well with the latest version.

I`m with some of the other users. I though Reload was going to be a great product, but I`ve never had anything but trouble. When I bought some and diluted as instructed, I had streaks that I couldn`t get off short of polishing. Corey was a big help and said it was just a bad batch that was made. He sent me an entire new bottle without cost to me. That`s all well and good, but the "new" version wasn`t much better. Mine does bead water, but that absolute hassle of application and removal isn`t worth the time and money. There`s other products that are just as good (or better) and don`t have the trouble.
I think Reload is just a product that`s never been perfected...yet they keep trying. I just can`t be the test subject anymore.

Based on your recommendation, I lightly polished the top of the trunk, applied the old version of reload on the left side and the new reload on the right side, with the center couple of inches untouched. I applied water directly to both half`s and they beaded equally. Looks like initial beading is equal, now I will see how it holds up this week in the rain and sun and I will wash it next week with optimum car wash. I used it at the recommended ratio, and it is a brand new bottle, hard to imagine if I even overdosed on the soap that it would strip the reload. In the mean time, I sent a pm to corey.

Post it on the Carpro forum. Probably get an answer there. I`ve used Reload, but have not checked for beading. No streaking though.

Get yourself some gyeon cure, or tac systems, or kamikaze overcoat and decorate the landfill with reload.

You`re just gonna get told what the rest of us hacks have been told........... "user error"

If they just kept using the original vendor instead of screwing with it.
