Carpet pet stains

We left the dog alone last night and she went on our new wool oriental rug. It's not auto carpet but I thought I'd inquire about removeing the spot and the smell. I'm sure alot of you guys have encountered such spots before. My wife extracted the wetness and the spot with our small bissell carpet cleaner. All looks good but this has happened before on our old rug and it smelled.

The wool is pretty thick.

Any suggestions? :angry
 
Go to a good pet supply store and get some enzyme type carpet cleaner. The enzyme action will remove the odor rather than trying to cover it up or wash it out.
 
I can't say it will work on wool, but I cleaned some dog puke out of my rug in my room last week with Autoglym carpet shampoo, then I used OxiClean and warm water afterward. Then I just blotted it dry with a paper towel.

Now you can't tell anything happened. :)
