Carpet and seat cleaning?

I did a detail on a '99 Nissan Altima yesterday and the interior took forever. There were quite a bit of stains on the seats and carpet. The products I used were Meg's APC diluted 4:1, Oil Eater diluted 1:1 and also tried the Woolite foam in certain areas. I used my Mytee hp60 to extract. The seats were a pain in the a**. Every time I'd go over an area more brown stains would surface, so I ended up having to go super slow and make several passes, in some parts many to get them almost totally clean.

In the end though it was a huge improvement although there were areas where some staining remained. Have any of you experienced this problem when cleaning fabric seats. All the Nissans I have done seemed to give me this problem. Is there a quicker solution to cleaning them? Also, please post up what products you guys find most effective for cleaning carpets and fabric seats. Thanks!

When something spills and it is not quickly absorbed by a towel etc., it will soak through the seat fabric and into the padding. A powerful extractor will rinse and pull the material up to the fabric surface. I have also experienced this problem and it is a PITA. Not much you can do except use a MF to blot the area.

im with brwill, they should spell stains stayns because no matter what you do to many of them ESPECIALLY on seat fabric, they will stay, at least you know it's clean.

i hear your pain....seems like all fords have crappy interior seats unless they are leather...the cloth, or synthetic crap or whatever, is hardly easily clean...I spend 4 hours on the interior of an extra cab F150 the other day...the seats came out about 75%, but at that point I was over it and the customer was completely satisfied...which means I am too! LOL...sometimes you have to say its good enough, or the best I can get it

When the seats are that bad I like to shampoo and extract then after that I will take some foam cleaner and go over the seats. I in most cases it will stop the dirt from seeping thru again.

Thank you all for your responses! Its nice to know that its not my process or products at fault, but rather the nature of dealing with a certain type of material. I will make sure to be aware of such a situation in the future and price the job accordingly.
