carnuba over zaino?

Yes, you can add carnuaba over any Zaino sealant. Will it enhance the shine? Well, that is subject to debate and determined best by your own personal view of the paint finish. I know I added a few layers of carnuaba trying to make it look better. I do not do it any more. Your tastes may be diffferent.

The only negative effect will be your need to strip the carnuaba off the paint surface prior to another layer of Zaino to help aide in bonding issues. if you are not worried about bonding issues than there isn't any negatrive effect.

I thought about Souveran over Z2pro but I dont think it would be nessesary, although the benefits of a carnuba are great.

Yes, it can be applied over Zaino but I have not yet found a carnuaba that I thought improved its looks. I have tried Moose Wax, Pinnacle Souveran and Zymol Concours over both Z2p and Z5p and felt that none of them were any better than Z8. Did not take away either so if it is something you enjoy I say knock yourself out. :up :nixweiss

can a good carnuba wax be applied over Z-2 and Z-6?

will it increase shine or will it cause negative affects?

If your paint has flakes, these will be brought out more by the sealant, while carnuba waxes can mute them a bit. I would stick with the Zaino and follow z06meister's advise and top it with some Z8 instead.

thanks for the info guys. i think im going to stick with just zaino then...

my lexus is Intense Blue Pearl and my wifes mini cooper is metalic gunmetal

u can top zaino with a nuba i have done it with a few times with diff nubas but to be honest using z8 after every wash will give you almost the same look as a nuba and u will beable to maintain the looker easier

Ditto. Z8 is best for used over Z2/5 sealants. Nuba dulls the silver on my silver car, no dpeth and clarity when topped that wya.

try some duragloss AW too in place of z8 you can probably get it locally and its only 8 bucks at most places def cheaper too and you dont have to wait for shipping

I thought sealants muted flake?

No, sealants actually make metallic paints pop and they really highlight the underlying paint structure because they bond to the paint. This is why when applying a sealant it is important to ensure that your paint is in good condition (e.g. clay to get rid of contaminants and polish away swirls) because sealants will also highlight any imperfections. Carnuba waxes can cover some of the imperfections because they do not bond to the paint, they sit on top of it, for this reason they can also mute the flakes. A lot of people have topped sealants with a carnuba, some like it, some don't. The only way to know will be for you to actually try it and judge for yourself. Your results will probably depend on different factor such as your paint finish, products you use and your process. Currently, I have 3 coats of UPGP on my car topped with some Z8, which I really like. However, I am actually thinking of topping it with the new P21S, just as an experiment. If I receive my order of the P21S this week I will do it next weekend and post some pics. If you do it, post some pics of the results.
