Carnauba Moose Wax (CMW) Question

Great way to describe it, John.

That was my first time using the Pink Moose, topped with CMW...That'll probably be my go to combo for black cars.

When Casey (EisenHulk) and I were working on that black car he mentioned I kept thinking what we could use on it. I finally remembered he had some of my favorite ClearKote products. We wound up topping Pink Moose with CMW and the car literally looked like a pool of black you could swim in. We were both very pleased at the outcome.

I have a bottle that is several years old. I am not getting good results from it. Should I buy a "fresh" bottle ??????

If VM is at all difficult to remove you are using too much.

If I use any less (just barely a pea sized drop), then it feels like and looks like I'm simply dragging the foam applicator on the paint - i.e. very few streaks here and there. Even those won't come off without some pressure. :nixweiss FYI, this is done by hand, don't have a machine yet.

I go through a bottle every 4-6 months so I don't know how well a bottle several years old would perform. Try calling or e-mailing Everett Glass at Clearkote, he would probably know best.

Are you just spreading VM or are you working it into the paint until it begins to clear out? If you are just wiping it on, that could cause removal issues. I haven't used it by hand in years but never had a problem removing it when I did.

Thanks Scottwax will do.

How do you apply CMW?

I'm getting some hazing even if I apply it via PC, Flex, by hand, very small amounts, etc...

Maybe I should try applying it and removing it just after waxing every panel...

:nixweiss I always apply it to the whole car (by PC) before buffing it off by hand.

I apply it by hand, first spreading it out, then back across the panel the way wind passes over the car. You can apply and remove panel by panel or the whole car and then remove.

off topic... has anyone used this? seems reasonably priced at $21.95...

Danase Classic Wax (8 ounce)
