Just wondering if anyone had any idea about this business. I see them at dealers in the area , basically with an old beat up van powerwashing vehicles for sale on the lots , both new & used. It seems there is no water recovery system just a powerwash and wipe.



The guys here look kind of shady to be honest.



I just resigned from my job and am looking into trying something different, the love of detailing and cars .
 
I wonder if I can do as good of a job (and better!) for the same price, and actually make good money... with a clean truck!



It wouldn't be hard to take over accounts if you offered everything they did and more :)

haha!...actually less!, in my area anyway...i looked into getting a few accounts with some dealerships on doing the lot cars...one stealership in the area here was only paying $0.45 per vehicle....and they were keeping around 200 cars on the lot....that is only $90!!...defenitely not worth my time or anyone elses IMO..
 
oh F*** that!!!! all day long for 90 bucks split between at least two people, if not 4....hahaha talk about a waste of time!!!



if you can get about 5+ per car, then its worth it....anything else, forget about it

Washing cars for a living is something completely different than trying to become a professional detailer. Two completely different things.



Think about it. It usually costs over $200 to have a car detailed, while most car washers are still charging as low as $3.00 per wash. Do the math. It is simply quantity verses quailty.

I wouldn't think you would need a wastewater recovery system if you were just powerwashing cars as there would be no chemicals in the water. I've seen others pw cars on lots as well. Seems like they do it every couple of days and each car takes about 20-30 seconds to spray off. They don't really get dirty, just a bit dusty. I would imagine these guys would have to use treated water as well, or spend alot of time drying cars. At any rate, doesn't seem like a profitable venture with the prices some are mentioning.
 
Its no wonder brand new cars have such bad swirls. I drive passed a Toyota dealership every day on my way to school. 2-3 times a week I see all the cars being washed. One guy spraying, one guy with the chamois.
 
yup, i seen a few guys pressure washing a dealers lot of vehicle new and old and they wet it and leave that simple but they dont get paid well plus this is before sunrise....

i also seen some detailer who pressure wash and wipe down with no soap ....

yup i agree the dealer dont pay well....
 
For that kind of money I won't get off the couch....lol , someones gotta be making money on it or they would not do it . I'm not sure what they charge here.
