Caring for PC Pads

I'm wondering what's the best way to care for PC pads. After each use, I was washing them with clear water and allowing them to air dry, then placing them in open ZipLock bags.

The other day I watched the video on the Meguiar's web site about using the PC polisher and they said not to wash out the pads... just knock the dried polish out of them before their next use.

So, now I'm asking those of you who regularly use a PC polisher how you care for your pads.

Thanks.

Thats the PC pads with the backing plate.

For my Velco backed pads, I soak them in hot water with dawn for an hour-overnight (depending on how much work I need to get done) and then rinse them in warm/hot water, followed by another rinsing in cool water. I then let them air dry.

It works well for me, didn't have one pad fail yet.

I'm with red car some dawn in a bucket of water, hand wash, rinse with clean water, put back on pc spin water off. let air dry in open zip lock.

I soaked my my redish meguiars foam pad in dawn for like 10 mins... it seemed to make it a lot softer, not so much a 'cutting' pad anymore. I'm not totally sure though, i'm going to pick up another 2 and see how the new ones compare.
