Caranuba after Autoglym extra gloss

Can anyone out there tell me how often you should use the super resin polish, and how long an interval to leave between layering the extra gloss protection, and if you can add a final carabuba topping afterwards, like you do with Klasse ?

thx

CMA says the Super Resin should last 150 - 180 days and the Gloss should last 180 -270 days.

When I layered the Gloss I used to wait a few days or maybe a week but there is nothing said that you cant do it the same day. Yes you can add wax to Autoglym, I have been doing this for the last year :)

What durability did you experience with the Super Resin?

Cheers

I have never tried to measure the durability, every few months I would strip it down and start again, but I dont doubt the CMA findings at all - sounds about right to me.

Lowejackson - I already have superresin and a coat of extra gloss on. I'm thinking this weekend of washing and putting Blitz on over the extra gloss. Or would it be better to just layer the extra gloss, and not bother with Blitz. By the way, my car is silver, so I am not sure how much difference Blitz would make, as I heard it is better on darker colored cars.

Flaccus, you could of course do both. Put another layer of Gloss and then add Blitz on top. Blitz will work well on any colour so dont worry about that.

The Gloss does increase the shine but the Blitz adds depth and increases slickness of the paint

I leave for the Gloss on for at least one to three hours min before buffing, I am not sure how long it takes to cure fully: it might be a few hours or a week. I have not put on wax over the Gloss on the same day, but that is due to other reasons like rain or its time to go to sleep. I guess the best thing to do is try it and see what happens.

On my car I have had much more luck with just the Resin and Blitz, but on my farthers BMW it does look better with Gloss and then Blitz, why this is the case I dont know.

Powerslave, I disagree, Autoglym Gloss is a polymer not a wax.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try the Blitz over the Extra Gloss this weekend.

Don't have any foam applicators, so will just use the terry cloth applicators I use for the autoglym stuff. And buff off the excess with autoglym perfect polishing cloths. I don't know if you use these, but they are so soft, they are like the gauze you use to dress an injury with.

Glad to be of some help. I have not tried the Autoglym cloth as I use the Meguiars foam pads and various MF towels.

Could you cut the cloth in half so that you use one for applying and one for removing.

If you can, do some before and after pictures, I am sure they would look great

Ive never used it but it says on the back it contains wax...and others said it didnt last long and obviously that was why, but I dont know for sure cuz I aint paying 35$ for a little bottle of it here.

I had a look at Autoglyms web site, and here is what they say about Extra Gloss Protection.

"..extra tough protective sealant that contains a complex blend of hard resins and waxes"

And for super resin polish

"...easy to use combination cleaner, polish and sealant...."

"...contains low molecular weight resins which provide exceptional cosmetic effect and protection from most environmental hazards".

Gonna be applying a 2nd layer of extra gloss this weekend, if that weather picks up as promised. Followed by Blitz.
