Alright guys... I am sorry, this has probably been asked 23563453 times (and counting ;) .) I have searched and searched and am finally tired of searching ( there are sooooo many things to choose from I am confused :( .) I bought a new baby and it is black... I want to keep it looking amazing as much as possible. I live in Florida. I am trying to find the best soap, wax, sealant etc for my car. I will be washing it every week. I am torn between Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax and Blackfire Wet... I came here for your guys advice on what to buy (it being pinnacle blackfire wet or another brand...) I WILL BE BUYING whatever you guys recommend me. Please help me pick a wax for my baby and recommend soap sealant etc I am looking for the works here... :)

What I am looking for is an amazing wet shine.

Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some pics of my car after I drove it home from the dealership.

UNO for your polish and either Poxy or BFWD. I honestly cannot tell a *striking* difference between a surface if half of it has Sealant Brand A and the other half has Sealant Brand B (with the exception to water beading pattern). As long as you have the surface regularly maintained and a good LSP on it, it'll look great. With that said, the zaino line of sealants look very good on solid colors.

nitro seal would be another good choice. what kind of wash do you want to perform. full blown two bucket i would learn towards griots, rinseless i would get onr and for waterless i would get either the hd free or 3d waterless wash. don't forget lots of mf.

I love the BFWD for black. Super easy to use and very slick. Good depth for a sealant. I recommend 2 bucket washes. ONR as a QD is good for preventing streaking after a washes or spot cleaning at a reasonable price.

Nat3- Welcome to Autopia! Nice car.

If I were you, I'd be all about how to wash it without marring the paint. Everything else would be secondary by a country mile. And FWIW, the "two bucket method" is only the tip of the iceberg IMO; I have to go way beyond that to avoid wash-induced marring.

Souveran is nice (I use it on one of my garage-queens) but its durability is nonexistent and even on a cool car like that waxing all the time can get old.

Nice five-oh! First, befor concerning yourself with products, you need to make sure your wash and care methods aren't going to cause more damage. Selection of towels and wash media is more important than the wax or sealant itself. Don't set your heart on a $100+ wax and think it will perform miracles. Those sorts of waxes are better suited for certifiable nuts that convince themselves a certain wax looks better than another.

Spend your money on wash buckets with grit guards, some good wash media (I like Mother's lambswool gloves), some nice microfiber towels. Start small with the Wax, Megs #26 is the best bang for the buck for a dark colored car. I have waxes that are ~$200 tub, and I still go back to #26. Collinite 915 is another great choice.

I would no longer dream of washing a detailed car, let alone a black one, without a foam gun. Also, in order to prevent post washing marring as much as possible, I'd get an Air Wand or Master Blaster and a mini, motorcycle blower to dry door jambs and recesses for nearly touch free drying.

After I wash with the foam gun, and multiple mitts ( but I rarely let the car get dirty enough to warrant them) I dry with my Air Wand, the mini blower and follow up with a drying MF. _ I QD before I pat dry with it. Drying goes by rather quickly, especially on my Accord, which is roughly the same size as your car.

As for products like polishes and LSPs, you're in the place to be to learn all about what works for you.

Thanks guys!!!

I already looked into how to wash a car a lot.. I already bought grit guards and will be doing the 2 bucket method and bought some nice quality wash mitts. I have a bunch of MF towles but they are really old and I will be buying new ones. I am thinking about Cobra. It seems like everyone has recommended something different thought it might have been more straight forward :(. But I guess with so many different products it will probably always be this way? I do not know what ONR and LSPs is sorry.

I randomly found this SmartWax Top of the Line Kit thoughts?

I saw that HD nitro seal ad on here.. Any good?

Any recommendations on a good wash soap (shampoo/conditioner) to use?

Thanks again guys!!!

Soap for me is something I like to find locally since its used most. Megs Gold Class, NXT (my favorite), DG901, and Griots are pretty easy to find and work well.

Not to threadjack, but where do you find Griot's locally? I thought Advance Auto Parts picked them up but I called several in my area and they all told me it wasn't available in stores, only on the Advance website.

hey ill be honest i didnt read a lot of the posts, but i just went through what your doing except im used to trying to do A LOT of research myserlf. I also own a mustang, nice car btw :), i just purchased a PC7424xp (i would have gotten the flex if i had more $$$) i bought meguiars #105 and #205 compound and polish as ive heard a TON of good reviews and literally zero bad ones. With that i purchased menzerna's powerlock as it also came with rave reviews however there were a couple competing sealants such as the wet diamond which i was tempted to get, but the powerlock is supposedly much easier to remove with similar or better results. i also bought myself a claybar from wolfgang as i heard bad reviews about pinnacles clay bar being a piece of ****. For my wax i went with a pinnacle carnauba paste wax,(the expensive one) which i personally am regretting, but you would probably love(My car is metalic and this wax supposedly is best used on solid colours that are red or black.)

With those products i also got an assortment of pads from lakecountry, 5.5" (for my pc7424) 3 oranges 2 reds 2 blacks 1 wool backing pad and 2 bonnets as well as a load of cobra gold MF towels.

Advance in my area carries it, I have seen it at two of them. You can use the website to locate a store that carries it. Its even better if you order the stuff online for in store pickup using their coupons, which are very generous.

Don't beat yourself up about how the Pinnacle Souveran (I'm guessing that's their "expensive paste wax") looks on metallics; it's my wife's fave on Audi silver and yeah, she can spot it...or rather, she can tell when something else is on that particular paint. If you don't mind its lousy durability and things like dust attraction, then there's nothing wrong with it IMO. I do like it on exterior trim too, I pretty much use it on every exterior surface of my Jag except the glass and the tires (even use it on all the other exterior rubber).

Just trying to look on the bright side since you already bought the stuff ;)

I don't know what to buy... To many choices :(

So far all I know I will buy right now is.

Soap: Meguiar's Gold Class

Cobra: MF towels

lol

Should I just pick something and see how I like it?
