HomeHome seems to be a new PBMA venture.
Anyone here know much about it? Is this to compete with Detail Box, It`s Better Waxed, etc? It says it offers free shipping to members. Does anyone know if Autopia Connect is being replaced by this?
 
man I hope they don`t put Crystal Coat in a box :(

I love the idea, but I like to choose my own products for the most part.

That would be fantastic as a gift for someone who just got a new car or just got into detailing, however
 
Great concept !!! If you are looking to try new products every month this is a fantastic value.

agreed. im even ok with a connect $50 minimum (maybe get a couple times you can order smaller in 911 cases)

I think we should pool our connect points and purchase a seat in the 2nd floor board room meeting :)
 
Well, if they send you a new box of products - every month - so you are paying a lot more money - every month - and a year goes by...
You have a lot of products - a year`s worth

Dan you just described the last year for me except I selected what was in the boxes myself, lol

I don`t buy much product anymore, so my opinion doesn`t really count, but what`s the draw in a monthly subscription for unknown products? Not just unknown product, but unknown category of product?

I agree, though I like surprises and really enjoy trying new products. I don`t want someone else selecting the products I use on a regular basis. I need that freedom. This does look like a great way for PBMG to keep its inventory fresh and ultimately that`s a good thing.
 
Being a hobbyist this would not work for me. But i see the hand writing on the wall. I guess we will wait for the formal announcement :(

Hey, I`ve been a Prime member ( free 2-day shipping) of Amazon for 14 years and can totally relate to getting something from them sometimes several times a month, for 12 months at a time... :)

I already placed 62 orders since June ! So, when you do your Quantitative Analysis, how sick am I ?? Yeah, I guess I have to say - "My name is Dan and I am an Amazon Junkie"... :) But I do get to pick out what I want.. :)

Even Amazon is gently trying to get me and everyone else too I am sure, to buy things for a lower price, but you have to keep re-ordering them on set schedules..

This is a great idea for people in the Industries that USE/Sell/etc., a lot of product and replenish regularly..

I hope Connect does not morph into this. I tried one of those box deals for a few months and was not impressed. I like to choose my products. Someone just starting out might like it. It benefits the manufacturer more than it benefits the detailer. It is a great way for manufacturers to get their products out for testing. I don`t want to pay to be a Guinea pig.
 
we are pretty spoiled by Connect but this car wax club seems nothing close to Connect. lets wait for final details
 
It does seem strange you can`t pick the products or "brand". What`s the point if you get boat detailing stuff and you don`t have a boat ? I did not see a difference in the two memberships? Did I miss it?
 
This thread is interesting. I never really understood all of the giddiness for the "mystery box" promotions, but folks seemed to jump all over those and pony up their cash for a box full of unknown detailing products.

I`m more aligned with the sentiments above... i.e. I would prefer to choose my own products.

With all of the seemingly success of the mystery box sales, if I was PBMG I`d try running a "mystery box of the month" promo up the flag pole and see how that flies too
 
I like the idea if I had money growing on trees and wanted to keep trying stuff.
Not good for a hobbyist that doesn`t do many cars though.
BUT, You are getting a better value....... $60 worth of product for $30.
Then the mystery of not knowing what you`ll be getting.
Will it go on the useless display detailing shelf or actually get used on Aunt Elma`s Pinto.

Is there any difference if I ask the Walmart greeter (or even my wife) to go down the car detailing isle and throw a few sale items in my basket?
I won`t look until I get the bag home.
 
I like picking my stuff out, if there is a sale. If no sale..
I find myself at another site, picking my stuff out.
 
I`m still believing that CONNECT will remain CONNECT as we known and not ruined :) I put my trust in the PBMG that actually listen to what their customers say! Look at all these happy and loyal customers they now have thanks to CONNECT. I don`t shop anywhere else, I`ll just wait for the best timing like Mary B or just price-matched em!
