Does anyone know of a company that makes brake caliper paint in a dark green?I have searched high and low for this paint and can't seem to find it.I have found just about every other color and I am now looking at other paint options.Does anyone know if Engine paint or regular oil based paint will work?Will the paint used on the body of the car work?I want to paint brake calipers and rear hubs.Any help would be great!Todd

I've seen some guys on the Talon Digest use high-temperature BBQ paint on calipers (available in the dark green you're looking for, and good to 1200', I think). For most street applications, I think this would be OK, but if you track your car or drive agressively enough to <strong class='bbc'>really[/b] heat up your brakes, you might want to stick with a paint designed specifically for that application.

Another thought . . . maybe you could mix a yellow and blue caliper paint from the same manufacturer? That probably wouldn't work too well if the paint is pre-packaged in spray cans, but if you find a source for "brush-on" paints that carries both yellow and blue, it's something to consider.

Any high heat paint will work. I use Rust Oleum high heat silver paint on my calipers and it works great. Hasn't chipped or peeled.



Keep in mind, the brake calipers do not get very hot, unless you plan to autocross.



Go to your local autoparts store. You should be able to find what you need.
 
NSXNEXT is right. Parts don't get as hot as you think. I use regular Rustoleum on the hubs of all my cars.
 
I just got done with a roadcourse event (Gingerman Raceway, South Haven, Michigan) and yeah, brakes dont get that hot, even during 30 minute lapping sessions. What I mean by "that hot" is that they will NEVER reach 1000 degrees F. I have measured mine and even at full tilt it doesnt reach 500 degrees F!



During an autocross, your brakes get warm, but not really hot, since you are normally racing for bursts of under 2 minutes.



So, I would suggest that a paint that can handle 600 degrees should be sufficient, although I used the 1200 degree stuff on my car! ;)
 
Didn't do to good today at the show lost to a bunch of cars that shouldn't of even been in the show.But the judges like the under hood bling and swirled out paint.I didn't even bother taking any pictures.But on a good note found myself some new models.Who wanted to pose next to my car who i'am i too say no.

They were actually more friendly then half the people at the car show.I give them a ton of credit to go out dressed they they did and promote there dance studio.It was alot of fun and they did a short belly dance for the crowd .The crowd was left standing with there mouths open.Who said big girls can't dance.
