Any products you could reccomend for shampooing carpet rugs type thing (For an Audi... if it matters) doesn't have to do magic just be available at Track Auto, Walmart, Kmart...

thanks !:D

I use Stoners carpet cleaner, If they are really bad.... I wet the mats with the hose, then light spray with simple green, scrub with brush, rinse with hose.....

a rug doctor or one of those gizmos you can rent from supermarkets should work, but a lot of poeple use a bissel or something.

One of the small portable bissels would work.

For floor mats I usually use my carpet cleaner. I scrub it very well and then hose it out. I hang it up to let some of the water drain, then come back later and vaccum it very well with my wet/dry vac and set it in the sun while I finish the detail. It will be mostly dry by the time I put it back in.

Prestone Carpet cleaner is an excellent carpet cleaner. Just make sure it is completely dry before you close the car up. It will leave a chemical smell otherwise.

For floormats I have had good luck just throwing them in the washing machine with some Tide and OxiClean detergents (combined), then letting them air dry. Better results than I got scrubbing them by hand, and a lot less effort!

thats a good idea but... can't do that when I'm detailing other people's car, don't think its smart. Where do you get oxyclean & how much is it?

Duh! I forgot I was on the Professional board (hence the fact that you probably wouldn't have access to a washing machine)... :nixweiss

I bought a small container (1/2 lb or 1 lb) of OxiClean at Wal-Mart. I think I have seen it in bulk quantities at Sam's Club. A little goes a long way. It does work in carpet cleaning machines as well...

Okay, heres MY method. It works great, I have never ran ito a stain I can't get out.

First rise the mats well w/ a hose. Use one of those dish brushes with the built in soap dispencer and scrub using either a liquid laundary soap, or dawn. Scrub well and rinse clean until all the dirt come out. I then use a squegee (CWB) to get the water out of the mat. Then use an absorber (a synthetic chamios) to dry the rest. I do this by laying it over the mat, taking my shoes off and doing little dances on the mat. It looks strange, but it works. Then lets the mats air dry for about 10 minutes and your done.

I have the Bissel Litle Green Cleaning Machine and it works alright, but it doesn't really get deep down I don't think. My favourite method still, is to just hose it down, pour on some detergent, dish or clothing. Then scrub with a brush. Then hose off and let the sun do the rest.

Spray 'em, hose 'em, and hang 'em.

The quickest and best way to clean carpet mats is to spray them with a carpet cleaner or diluted degreaser, blast them clean with a hose (or even better, a pressure washer if you have one), and hang them dry. I usually suck up the water with a wet/dry vaccuum first before I hang them.
