My wife and I have similar cars with identical Infinity stereos from Chrysler. They're ok as far as factory systems go, what I'm focusing on at the moment is subs. I installed an Infinity Perfect 10 in mine with an Audiobahn amp putting out 400 watts at 4 ohm. We decided to kick it up a notch for my wife's car, so I'm getting two 12" TC Sounds T-1000 subs, building a sealed 4' box, and a yet-to-be-determined amp with ~1000 watts.

At home I don't have my home theater set up because I know what my teenagers would do to it. I did just pick up a set for my bedroom from a yard sale, simply because I couldn't pass up the deal. I got an old Denon AVR-1000 receiver and two Cerwin-Vega VS-120 floor speakers. They cost a whopping $2 per component. Yes, $6 for the whole system. And they all work great. I have my Sirius boombox plugged into the Denon through an adapter.

Not a lot, I know, but it's fun to play with. BTW, TC Sounds makes some great subs (for home or car), they OEM for a number of other companies, and for the present they have great prices. They also recently posted a notice on their home page that within the next couple of weeks they're changing their pricing structure to raise all their prices 30-50%. If you want one, now would be the time to pull the trigger.

I guess I could have posted what I had LOL

I've always felt that a car was too noisy, variable, and funny-shaped inside to bother with real high-end audio. Loud? - Sure. Good? - It's a losing battle. To each his own - flame away.

My Jeep audio system is a work in progress. I really need an amplifier and I am hoping for a subwoofer eventually. However, as of right now, I have a Kenwood MP-4032 head unit and Polk Audio DB650s all the way through. The sound quality is already impressive, but I am wanting more power.

Definitely into both

Been into car and home audio for a long time. Ran the IASCA circuit back in the late 1990's. The current car setup is pretty basic, but it's a vast improvement over anything stock...

How do you like the TB's? I have been looking at them for quite some time, just to play with. What kind of box do you have them in? Any opinions on them?

I hope it is ok to post this here and if not I guess a mod can just delete it, but Ijust started up a forum where we talk about home and car audio as well as some other things. You should come check it out if you get a chance at Southern_Ridez :: Index

I'm using them IB in the rear quarter panel of my Matrix. I tested 6W0's and eD's Eu-700's in the same configuration and preferred the TB's to both of them. The extension is pretty impressive for a pair of 6.5" subwoofers, but if I had the space, I would have probably preferred a larger woofer.

Ex IASCA competitor and judge here also. Mostly in the late 90's as well.

Still have the competition car too... with same equipment from '98/'99.

The front speakers are Dynaudio and Morel's. The 6.5" midbass is the Morel MW166... The 55mm softdome mid is the Morel MR55... and the Dynaudio D260 1" soft dome tweeters. These components are being driven with Dynaudio X360 crossovers. I am running a Kicker ZR600 in stereo on the front set.

The JL 15W6 subs are in a sealed enclsoure, white laminate interior, neon, and 3/4" plexi rear for show. I am running a ZR600 amp running in stereo on each 15W6 which will be a 3 ohm stereo load.

I have (2) Audio Control 30-band 1/3 octave EQT's and am using the Kicker crossover modules that plug into the amplifiers.

Picture from finals...

On to Home A/V.... started with my first HD ready set in '99 with a Toshiba 61" set (which is still down in the family room!), with an HK receiver and Infinity Kappa 9.1 mains.

The current Media room is quite a bit nicer.... 106" DLP front projection, full light controlled room, media reclining seating, acoustically treated walls with fabric, etc.

What fun is a car without good tunes? They go hand-in-hand! :woot2:

88 Mustang weekend cruiser/occaisional track car

Clarion Head Unit w/ MP3/CD, etc. Model 655MP from '05 I believe.

Older Kenwood tweeters and door speakers, 6x8's in the deck

RF P3 in 'glass enclosure in the spare tire spot w/ RF 325.1 to power it. Just finished it up not too long ago. Its wrapped in a black vinyl/leather material. Also made a 'glass spot in the ashtray for the RF dB booster knob thingy (thats a technical term) and an iPod.

The bad part of all of it is that I really can't hear much anyway with the windows down and a .550 lift cam. :lol

Ahhh....those Danish sure do know how to build some nice equipment :) I have the Dynaudio System 360 but am only using the 8" right now. The whole set was incredibly clean, powerful, and loud, but I couldn't get the MD140's to image properly in my truck.

Well there's a lot of truth to that. Good speakers and a sub, along with a factory headunit often work for me. My system CAN outdo my Borla muffler at 80 mph (3300 rpm), but listening that loud for too long takes away from the driving. Plus then I can't hear the radar detector.
