Car dollies...

Poorboys Rules!
Anyone know where I can find some of these?

I found these at O-Reilly's auto parts (chain store), AC Delco brand for around $120. Griots Garage has some for just over $220.00...not sure if the extra $100.00 is worth it. Summit racing also has some for around $150.00.

If anyone has any experience on any particular brand I'd like to know.

My father-in-law just picked up a cherry, fully customized 55 Chevy show car and he's looking for a set of dollies for it.

Thanks!

When it comes to dollies is all in the casters used. The previous shop had Go-Jacks. Nice thing was there are built in jacks. 12 years and multiple vehicles still going strong. Make sure you have the right width for your tires or they won't jack up right.

Thanks John...I'll check into those as well.

I have a cheap set from Menards and they are junk. Been saving up for a set of Go-Jacks. A buddy of mine has a set and it's definitely the way to go IMO.

i vote for gojacks as well. there was always a set or two at the body shops i worked at many moons ago. theyre great bc they lock in place. they grip the actual tire & theyre durable as hell.

I looked into these when I was going to build my extra garage and the reviews and things I read said the casters play a big part in what to buy. The cheaper ones are fine for vary smooth surfaces but if there is anything they could get hung up on they usually will.

The Go Jacks seemed to get the best reviews and seems to be the best quality product from what I found. Plus you don't need a jack which saves some extra time and effort

Not to mention they sell a stand for storage that has wheels.

Thanks to all of you for the insight.

We were looking to buy a set of these for my father in law, but the go-jacks are out of our budget. We may just give him money to put towards them and he can buy whichever he likes. I'll tell him the benefits of the go-jacks and if he wants to fork over the rest to buy those, he can.

:thanks

If I was buying these for my own truck, I'd probably buy the ones from O-Reilly's or Summit and hope for the best, but this 55 Chevy that my father in law bought is way to nice to put it on some crappy stands that may not move well, or break. I think he really needs to invest in the nicer go-jacks.
