Hi all...OK..Im a klasse rookie....3 weeks ago...put 1 layer of AIO and one layer of SG...today put another layer of SG....It seems SG is a pain to get off of a silver car...and the results are so so...maybe the protection is there...but the shine...well I was getting that before with Blitz...should I keep adding SG over the next few months...maybe AIO/SG is not meant to be put on a silver car....who knows...any idesa or suggestions?...thanks, lance

I've used Klasse longer than most here. I mentioned way back when that I wasn't very impressed with 1 coat of the Sealant Glaze. I felt as though that I got a better shine with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze followed by Blitz or Pinnacle. Well I decided to try a few more coats of the SG. The 2nd layer was looking better. It wasn't until the 3rd coat that I really saw the difference. After the 3rd coat, I was sold! My finish looked very very nice. Since then, everyone is now hooked on applying multiple layers of the SG.

Remember that when you're applying the Klasse SG to use very very thin coats. You should be able to do an entire car with 1 oz. Apply it with foam pads and allow the SG to sit on your car for a minimum of 20 minutes before buffing it out. Allow at least 24 hours of curing time before you think about applying additional coats. With the Klasse SG, you are getting unbeatable protection and after a few coats you will get an awesome shine. Then, after 3-5 coats of the Klasse Sealant Glaze, follow with a good carnauba such as Pinnacle Paste Glaze. Laters.

I currently have AIO and two coats of SG (3 on hood and trunk) on my silver car. Trust me, Don is right. With each successive layer, you will notice a difference in your car. Not only will the shine be better, the SG coats will provide a deepening effect by making your car look ever so slightly darker. I just wish I hadn't been so hasty in applying those carnauba topper layers. I would have liked to have seen what my car would look like after a few more layers of SG. Also remember, your paint has to be in pretty good condition before application to get the maximum effects of Klasse (or any other product).

silver is a tough color, one of, if not the, toughest to get a really good shine on. follow these guys' advice and see if it doesn't get better.

My Lincoln is silver, and I really did not like the results with just one coat of SG or even two for that matter. But, when I got to the third coat, WOW . You can really tell the difference once you get to the third coat. Now I have AIOx2, SGx5 and a topper of Blitz and the shine and depth is amazing. Keep working, you'll get there.

Good Luck!!

Don's one of the guru's that got me to try Klasse, and I'm very satisified (thanks).

I did in the early spring when even the 20 minute cure thing wasn't really established. On my Silver Passat, I used the applly SG till it disappeared. Then I did that 3 more times (oops), but surprisingly it gave excellent results, especially after Blitz. Klasse even makes the Blitz last longer, IMO. Didn't use AIO either (oops, again), but after detailing other cars for practice, my car will surely look awesome when I do it again.

Here's the link to my site: The pics on top are week 1 and the pics on the bottom are week 16. The shine is totally easy to keep up, and it wouldn't look that good 4 months later without the Klasse protection.

Q: how good did it look after the AIO. I really "work in" my AIO coats cause it cleanses the car, really gets to the shine. IMO, if it doesn't look good after the AIO step(s), that's when you should analyize what's going on, before moving on to the SG/Blitz.

Stick around, I hope that you can get your finish to achive the results you are looking for. HTH-Steve

I use the Klasse twins on my silver car have found that 3 coats of SG topped off with Pinnacle Souveran is just terrific. I have never tried just a single coat of SG, but I think you will be happy with multiple coats of it.

Agree with Don. Plus, klasse, and all products out there aren't perfect, and allways gonna get you the desired results. Time, experience, paint color and type all contribute. Dont give up right away.

I thought it would interesting, maybe even fun, to exchange some ideas on what sealants/waxes work best for different automotive coatings.

Keeping to the "basic" colors found on most cars these days, which I believe would make up this short list:

White
Black
Silver

These three colors, listed above, probably comprise the great majority of cars out there on the road currently and historically.
Then we get to the primary and secondary colors:

Red
Blue
Yellow
Those are primary colors.

Secondary colors:
Green
Orange
Purple, or Violet

Now let's also take into account the fact that a lot of finishes, especially the higher end cars these days are metalflake colors.

Discuss your fave LSP for each color, or pick a color and discuss your fave LSP for only that finish.

I'll start with an example:

Silver: I've personally found that using a sealant only with silver and silver metalflake cars, like BFWD, gives these finishes their maximum "pop" and clarity. I've also found, and this is just my opinion, that adding a wax to top the sealant seams to overly "warm" the look of the car and things seem to lose clarity. The "loss of clarity" is very subtle but I can clearly see it none the less.

Another example:

Red: I like to top BFWD with wax for this color. I find the red, without wax, is a little too "electric" with just sealant only. For me, this is a case where Blackfire Midnight Sun comes into play. Two coats of sealant, with proper cure time followed by one coat of Midnight Sun and red cars just look perfect to me.

An aside about Blackfire Wet Diamond: Personally, I won't do a car without finishing with this product. I've not found another sealant so easy to use and with greater clarity; not to mention the excellent protection afforded by BFWD... long story short, I love this stuff!:thumbup:

Ok... let the discussion begin and thanks for participating!:)

My car is Titanium Silver (Metalic).

I have used P21S Concourse which looks great. I have also used Natty's Red. This really looked awesome. It made the flakes POP, and had a great slickness. Unfortunately, the durability is not great.

In the sealant category, I use BFWD, which is clerely the best product I have ever used. It really added to the look much more then a wax has ever done. For the winter prep, I topped the BFWD with Collinite 845IW for increased durability. It still looks good, but it kind of mutes the flakes a bit.

I recently won Midnight Sun in the "Just Because" contest, and I am looking forward to spring, when I will try that out both on it's own and topped over BFWD.

Black Sheep here.

I use 3 LSP's. That's it.

(In order of the one I've used longest.)

Zaino Z2Pro
Zaino Z5Pro
Blackfire Wet Diamond.

To me, there's little or no difference in the finished appearance regardless of color. (Although there are differences in application and removal.)

OK just shoot me! LOL:devil:

Hey Bill, like I mentioned originally... it's all good!

I thought it would be fun to share everyone's :2 cents: on this stuff. Thanks for posting!:hurray:
