Car Collection Shine?- PIC!

Hey guys

I have been detailng a gentlemens car collection lately, and all of the cars paint is in great shape, (free of bonded contaminents, and major defects). I am trying to bring them to a truly show car shine.

The question I have is what PC applied Glaze, or Polish will produce the best wet finish on a paint that is clayed and ready to be polished?

-Now I know it is like asking a bunch of kids what their favorite soda is, but I would like opinions of what you have tried and what combos have been successful for you.

-So far I have read and seen alot of y'all use Vanilla Moose, RMG, PWC, and Menzerna Finishing glaze, when using such a product. Is megs Machine Glaze any good? I ahve been using Men PO106, Adams Spray Glaze, AIO, and PWC.

-I will be using one of the LSP's in my arsenal, Carnauba Based or Sealant (for the polishing/glazing step is what makes the biggest difference on the finished product).

But, any suggestions on the wettest combos would be great! Pastes? I haven't heard to much of you using Trade Secret, or Pizazz latley, but Natty's Blue sure has gained some popularity.

THANKS for the help, pictures will come, and oh man what a collection!

A little taste from the collection, the almighty MULE Camaro Twin Turbo!

I would take a loot at the Pinnacle XMT series. Souverian paste for Dark Colors and liquid Souveran for lighter colors. I have not tried the XMT but the reviews have been stunning and I will be trying them in the near future..

I would definitely give Pinnacle XMT Carnuba Finishing Glaze a try. (Off Topic: DennisH, I didn't see you at the Cruise In yesterday...I've got a sample of XMT to give you).

Here is a 01 Roush that I did yesterday. The car had light scratches which I used XMT #2 light swirl remover. There were a couple of deep scratches that I used SSR 2.5 to correct. The final coat was XMT Finishing Glaze (pc set on 4 with a finish pad). The gloss and depth is stunning.

Definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting a superior finish.

I locked the keys in the car when we up were in Topeka and took us a while to break-in. By them time we got there we enter but wasn't anyplace to park - tired to park in the middle and they ran us off so one guy parked us by the 4th street entrance - ten minutes later we were told us by a Yellow Shirt we couldn't park there either is was reserved for some of his friends that hadn't got there yet -- after he was so rude we just left... Nice event but should be run by car guys not a radio station.

Dennis: parking was definitely tough...we ended up on a side street by KHP Headquarters building.

If I don't catch you before you try some XMT Glaze yourself, have fun with that stuff. I posted some pics in the Autogeek Gallery (under my name). If you view the images in a larger size, you'll be amazed at the product results.

Private collector, he is a great guy. As for what he does I dont know. We usually just talk cars and hang out. He has over 40 cars in the collection, all one of a kind. He is the guy who sold the Cuda convert's at Barret Jackson for $3mil, and 2.5mil.

Like you said, everybody has their favorite soda. There’s also the complication that different paints can respond differently to identical products. I tend to used tried and true Meg’s #7 but I would encourage you to play around and see what you like best.

Oh, and this is simply not accurate. Some people may have issues with application technique though. It's not a product that "builds up" so "over application" as in "too often" is not really a problem, applying it too thick is.

PC.

My favorite soda would be Meguiars Hand Polish (#81) via Da at 4.5 then good ol' #16. IMO it looks very deep and rich. VMHG and S100 would be my Sprite if there is no 7up. I think you are on the right track if your lean towards a paste carnauba. HTH.
