Car care products and applyers (long)

I was wondering something, does it matter if you throw in a bunch of different brands of products together? Almost all of my stuff is different brands. My supplies (mostly applicators) are coming in tommorow.

edit: I read a review on s100 wax, it seems like everyone likes it, but a few people said that it works better on dark colors. I have Milano red paint that is medium brightness.

I cleaned all of my glass today. I previosly rain-x'ed all of the exterior glass, beads water like crazy, no joke, ya gotta try it. Then I rain-x'ed the interior glass with anti-fog, should be nice in the winter. I used rain-x window cleaner with paper towels (used about 15 lol) inside and out, the rain-x worked ok, nothing spectacular, a bit more reflective then windex. I did all of that work (35 min) to get rid of the hazyness of applying the rain-x products. Nice and clear now. Next time I clean the windows, should I use newspaper? I heard about useing it, it baffles me why someone would use newspaper to clean windows? How does that work??

I also cleaned where the door meets the body, do people refer to this area as door jams? I dident get all of the dirt and grime with a terry (no chemicals used) but just that improved the looks a ton. when I detail the interior I will take Q-tips to that area. I hope a few people reply to my other thread about what wax and polish I should get. I am definitaly getting the poorboy's sealent after reading one person's review on it, it is perfect for my color and what I am looking for. That just leaves a good polish and carnuba wax to top to decide on.

Mixing brands is perfectly okay - as long as you know what each product is (or contains), what it does, and how you are supposed to use it relative to the other products. You only get into trouble if you are missing some important piece of info and misuse something. Even then, usually we can help with that. :)
