Canvas/Fabric Coating

Christmas came early. Sold my Big Green Egg, bought me a PK360 grill.
Anyhow, the cover on it is cheap. But it`s shaped/formed for it, so that`s the cover I`ll use

Looking at coatings/sprays/protectants for the canvas material (even though the unit itself is all aluminum and stainless).


Whaddy say for a typical 600D canvas material for outdoor 24/7 exposure.
A autopia approved fabric coat.

Or something more utilitarian like Scothguard Heavy Duty Starbrite, etc.
 
Most of the marine community considers 303 fabric guard to be the best. Possibly the biggest canvas supplier - Sunbrella - recommends this. I just went through 4 gallons of it.
 
303, I then always have these results.

+1 With Coleroad and Glen E - Raggtopp -
They make convertible tops and they make the cleaner and the Sealer Spray..
Used a lot of it on all those convertibles in the Seattle area..
The cleaner works great, rinses out perfectly.
When the top is fully dry, the Sealer also works great, gives the top a beautiful shade of the original color again, and water, not the product (like 303), runs off for a long time..
All my Clients loved it, and so did I.
I Detailed a Mini Convertible and used RaggTopp products on the top right before it got shipped to Florida, the vehicle above it leaked oil onto the top, Client horrified, called me..
Told him to rinse the top with water and see what happens.. The oil rinsed right off...
No damage to the top..

I used Raggtopp when I first got my convertible but quickly tried of removing the overspray from glass and paintwork. With 303 you can control where the spray goes or paint it on with a brush for best results.

I don`t seem to have the overspray issue.. Perhaps the can had a defective spray nozzle? I do go over all the glass - after - to make sure, nothing ended up on there... :)

One way to help keep things on the right side is to take a rectangular piece of cardboard that is stiff but thin, and hold that say, right where the top stops and molding, etc., starts,
spray that area, move the cardboard, spray again..

This is how I get clean lines inside the house where the walls and ceiling meet, since they are always a different color, using my Binks Airless...
In the Paint Dept of Home Depot for example, they sell a cardboard holder on a short pole so that you can do this much easier when painting..

Just yesterday when I went to the store I bought some stuff including bleach. The pull tab must have broken because it leaked on the fabric seats in my car. But I didn`t know it. This AM I went to the car and saw (I`m in AZ where it`s hot a dry) bleach dried and crystallized on my back fabric seat. But, I used 303 Fabric Gourd on the upholstery 6 months ago. I sprayed it with Mckees 37 Water-less wash mixed to water-less wash dilution and it came right up. No sign of it. Gone. No stain, No bleach spot. It had totally repelled it. A bottle is $12. Great product. ````e happens, but I was protected.
