Can it be wet sanded? Its cracks in the paint due to the plastic bumpers flexing.

Thanks,

Hmmm...one of my project cars has something just like that on one corner from the previous owner's inability to park.

I'm toying with the idea of filling in the cracks with Dr. ColorChip and seeing if I can live with it. Might be an OK (if imperfect) low-buck solution.

No, no...I'm not saying that's the *right* thing to do, but on some vehicles it might be good enough. In my case, the bumper covers are gonna be hitting some things anyhow so a proper R&R repaint seems like overkill.

If you do decide to do it properly, I *really* doubt that replacing an otherwise OK cover would save $ over the labor to strip/sand it. Paint strippers work quickly/easily and the prep on a new cover takes some time anyhow.

would it be cheaper to get a replacement bumper instead of paying for the labor to strip it and sand it?

No because he's not going to strip it. He's going to scuff it up, maybe use a little filler if needed, and paint it. There really is no need to completely strip it.

Ok sounds good. I just dont know much about body work. This is gonna gave to be done right for it to look good. I have turtle wax black box on it now and it hides it a little but you can still feel it.
