Hello,

I recently started looking for a new set of buffing pads to use with my Makita rotary. Till now i have been using cheap "hi-buff" pads. Total Cra*. I am looking to invest in a set of pads that will work from paint correction to finally LSP. Lake Country seems like the way to go but they have so many different types of pads that all are supposed to act differently. I was just wondering if there was a forum favorite. I am looks to spend $100 or less.

Thanks,

Dan

I use LC pads exclusively on my PC and rotary polishers. I generally use the same pads on both machines.

6.5" Smart Pads in orange, white and blue. These are apparently designed for a dual action polisher, but they work well on a rotary. I use a LC 5.5" backing plate.

6.5" Purple Foamed Wool. These are great for rotary use. I use a 6" LC backing plate with these.

4" Spot Buffs. Same colors as the 6.5". I use a LC 2-3/4" backing plate.

3.5" Purple Foamed Wool. Great with the rotary on small areas. I use a LC 2-3/4" backing plate.
