Can I wet sand chips that have been touched up over a year ago?

Now that I am better at wetsanding chips I want to do some on my other car. Problem is, some of these chips have been touched up for over a year. Is it still going to work if I wet sand them?

Thanks

hey man! I am having the same problem as you.... my mom tried to cover up some scratches a couple of years ago. She didnt get paint that matched plus its not level at all so i plan i am planing on fixing it. I emailed David Bynon, the guy who started this website and store and this is what he told me...

"Removing the blob of touch-up paint with 2,000 grit wet/dry sand paper is not as challenging as you might think. Get a rubber school eraser (one of the 1" by 2" blocks) and use it as a sanding block. Cut a slick of paper to fit around the eraser. Soak the paper in soap water for 30 minutes. Wet the area to be sanded and sand using light back and forth strokes. Check your work ever 8-12 passes by drying the area. You will be able to see how far you are from level. Only sand enough to get close to level, not completely flush, because you need to leave paint material for polishing. See the picture in my book. Then use two grades of polish to remove the sanding marks and restore full gloss."

I hope that helps u cause it really helped me out! going to pick up my PC and sandpaper at lowes tonight lol
