Since P21S comes it tub, I was wonder if you can use it with a Porter Cable. Can u use the P21S foam applicator and smear it on to a pad on the porter cable? :nixweiss

I guess you could by why would you want to? Its not necessary, you dont need the rubbing action of the pc and you just run the risk of introducing new swirls to the paint. Its best to be done by hand when finishing.

There isn't any benefit to using a PC when applying a paste wax. Its not going to look better or last longer. Like Scott said, it would probably be faster to do it by hand anyway. The time it takes you to apply the wax to your PC could be used to apply the wax to the car. Its just not necessary. Use the PC for liquid products. Paste products are to be used by hand.

It's a pain to apply paste wax with a machine. I've tried it in many forms- mostly when I first got my PC (I'd eat breakfast with it if I could.) Inevitably half way through, I always just use a nice MF applicator and much better. Plus, a lot of product gets wasted by machine.

And there's also the time you have to spend washing it out of your pc pad!

Just a reminder guys, some people find the application-by-PC to be easier on their shoulders, especially if they are injured. The motion is quite different and can make the difference between being able to detail or not. I know, I was there (thankfully all recovered now). Without machine application and removal I wouldn't have been able to do anything beyond wash/dry, and even THAT was an ordeal (as in requiring major painkillers before and after and each movement resulted in a longer recovery time/more damage). As I've said on other threads, when you can't even pick up a coffee cup or otherwise live normally, you have to reprioritize and find alternate ways of doing things.

I don't know if that's why david328ci asked, but it comes up from time to time.

But yeah, it takes longer to set up the PC than it does to use a nice, easy wax by hand, and it takes more product, and you still have to do the tight spots by hand anyhow.

david328ci- I apply pastes to the PC's foam with a putty knife or a piece of plastic. I don't have any swirl-inducing problems with foam on the PC that I wouldn't have with a piece of foam in my hand- not much difference, the PC is just a "faster hand".
