Can I trust those cheap TurtleWax buffers?

I am new at using a polisher/buffer and I don't want to spend too much on a PC. So I was wonder if one of those cheap ones are worth it at all? Like the turle wax ones. Will I end up burning or scratching the paint every easily? What's the disadvantage of them?
 
I have a question along these lines too. I have a not so cheap Sears Orbital Buffer i just got as a gift, is it any good in your opinion? Can i use the same pads that are sold on autopia-carcare?
 
Those types are only for after paint is cleaned and clayed and all swirls are removed . They can be okay to apply a sealer with a microfiber bonnet , then removing sealer by hand or with another clean bonnet .

Really no big advantage over doing it by hand imho
 
They lack enough power to do much of anything other than apply waxes. A PC is a very wise investment. You get what you pay for.
 
i have a "cheap" orbital buffer that i bought a couple of years ago... anybody want it? i'll sell it for cheap
