Can a foam gun be effective without a pressure washer?

A foam gun (for a regular hose) and a foam cannon (for a pressure washer) both have pros/cons. You can't easily do that with the foam cannon because you need 2 hands to control your wand and squeeze the trigger.

very good points...

Just curious, how much tubing did you buy? I bought 1 foot of tubing and it was less than a quarter. They have a section with nothing but plastic tubing.

Oops! I was in the pressure washer section buying the replacement gun/hose and saw a replacement soap pickup tube. So, I bought that. It had probably a foot more tube than I really needed and a big azz particle filter on the end. I guess I could have saved myself a few bucks by just buying some tubing. Oh well! It's nice to have the filter on the end.

What power washer do you recommend buying that I can just plug and play a foam cannon too?

I wish I could make a recommendation, but I don't know squat about PW's. I have a Husky 1750 electric and it's a total POS. Plus, I had to buy a new gun/hose assembly so that I could attach the foam cannon.

Thanks. I didn't see the bottles on their site, do you have a link for the half gallon? It would make sense for them to sell them which I'm sure they do........
I see where they sell the gun with a 1/2 gallon bottle and also sell the quart bottle separately, but I don't see the 1/2 gallon bottle by itself. Since all I was looking for was the quart bottle that might be the only size they were selling:

Autogeek Quart Foamaster Foam Gun with FREE BONUS

I'm sure you could get one somewhere, perhaps directly from Gilmour.

I have got mine last weekend and I´m very satisfied with the quality of foam and the durability of the foam on the paint. It stays about 3-4 minutes, enough time to prevent scratches.

I think autogeek has a deal going on now where they include a bottle with the foam guns. I've heard so much about them, I'm finally getting one. Which size foam gun did you get?

Did the quart tank provide enough foam and suds for the entier wash for you?

I bought the quart size and it has the capability to do the car twice with it.

They sell both sizes separately if you want to pick up a spare bottle that is a different size from what comes with the gun you order. The gun I have is a 1/2 gallon and that works out well for what I use it for. The smaller size is probably easier to handle, but even though I bought a smaller bottle for it last year I haven't bothered using it yet. My guess is that 75 -90% of the foam gun users here have the smaller bottle so it must work out pretty well for them. I guess I'm used to the mix I make for the 1/2 gallon size and I never seem to have a problem finding a use for all of the foam.

I'm also using the half gallon size now, but I can't decide on the amount of solution to add to it. How much of the DP Extreme are you adding to the bottle?

I don't use the DP Extreme, I usually use Poorboy's S,S,&S. I fill the bottle almost full of water then add about 2 ounces of the S,S,&S, shake it up, and that works out pretty well for what I use it for.
