Can a filler polish or glaze be used with Z5?

From what I've read, Z5 needs to be applied a clean surface with no oily polishes or carnuba to adhere properly. So what can be used as a filler polish or a glaze to fill marring before applying Z5, and still keep the durability of Z5?
 
If it's light, use a white pad and a slow speed. It's better to knock it out now than having to have the swirls/scratches come back.

If it is very light swirls then you can use Danase Wet Glaze. I am pretty impressed with the versitility of this product. It has slight filling properties also, so depening on your situation it may help you out. It also has good bonding properties to many different products.



I know about not always having the time to do a full paint correction, so I feel what you are trying to do.

:2thumbs: I'm just concerned with protection now for the winter months and covering it in the process. When spring comes around and the temperatures are a lot nicer, I won't mind spending many hours perfecting.



Thanks for the tip on the Danase Wet Glaze, I'll look into it. Another product I've been looking at is the Red Moose Glaze, is it real oily and would not be able to be topped with Z5 or anything else?



I always thought a glaze could be topped with a carnuba or a sealer is that not true? (Just reading from the Danase site).

The definitions of a glaze (like polish) has taken on many different facets. The common throught however is that you do not use a oily based glaze with a sealent.



I have some Red Moose Glaze myself, but I usually only use it with Carnubas, so I have no experience with using it with a sealent like Zaino.



One other thing to keep in mind with glazes is that your topper product cannot contain cleaners. That is an obvious note, however many people forget that and try to top glazes with products like Megs NXT.



I have personally used Danase Wet Glaze and Zaino Z5 without issue. So my recommendation is from personal experience.
 
You should get the PC, easy to work with. I learned on my own, and I removed all the light swirls without using a glaze.



If you're not ready to go that route, try using Z-5 as a base, then top with any glaze. Just remember that glazes won't last long.



If I was in your situation, I would use Z-5 vs. Z-2.

Z-5 makes the color "darker" and you won't notice the flaws, opposed to Z-2 since Z-2 brings the gloss and you can see everything if you're has swirls..etc.



That's why they say, you should have an almost flawless finish before applying Z.
 
Get some of the Zaino Fusion or known as ZPC, it's great for light stuff and has a micro diminishing abrasive so it's extremely same for polishing since the abrasive shrinks as it breaks down. You can use it with a white or orange LC pads. It's also a perfect prep for Z5 or Z2.
