Camaro ZL1 Information

So earlier today information about GM's latest and greatest muscle car, the Camaro ZL1, was released to the public.

Camaro ZL1 Dealer Reference Guide (PDF with full specs/options) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com

In the reference guide are a number of interesting and useful tidbits that could be of use to detailers, such as this tidbit about the heat extractors in the hood:

Please Note: The black painted carbon fiber “mohawk” requires unique care when cleaning. The optional exposed carbon fiber weave version can be waxed like the rest of the surface of the car.

Even though I know we're nowhere near ready to start seeing ZL1s at dealers or in our customers' possessions, I thought it might be worthwhile to bring this to the attention of anyone here who may encounter one of these cars early on. Nice that they're providing us with this type of information up front!

I'm guessing maybe it's flat black paint, while the optional "exposed weave" shares the same clear coat used on ZR1 'vette roofs....

Tomorrow I'll be in a location where I can access GM's TSB database, so I'll have to see if they have put anything out that further outlines the "unique care" required.

I also just noticed another tidbit about the seat material:

Please Note: The sueded microfiber inserts require unique care when cleaning.

Sounds a bit different than the "UltraSuede" GM has been using in the past.

I think I misunderstood what I read at first too. They are referring to what is probably flat paint "mohawk" that is similar to the new flat Mercedes paint and is standard. but the optional upgrade does not require special care.
