Call not returned RANT!

I had a detail planned a week and a half ahead of it's date. It was planned for this morning, the 23rd. Yesterday I called the client and he didn't answer, so I left a message saying it was a confirmation call and to call back to say if he still wanted to do it since its pretty far from where I live. He never called back to either cancel or to confirm... I mean if you don't want the job, just tell me! So, now I'm out $400 and a whole day that I left open for this detail has gone to waste... :furious:
 
I call 5 days in advance to confirm all jobs - If I get a message I leave a message stating I need to hear back from them to consider it "confirmed"



If I do not hear back from them I will call once more after 2 days passes, if I get a message again I will say that I am left to assume they no longer wish to hold the date and that the cancellation fee we spoke of and that they signed to on the quote when the job was quoted will be sent to them.



Luckily this is not a regular occurence as I am selective as to who I service and think I have a good sense of a persons integrity

I had the same thing happen twice in the same week, one guy had two cars too. Lost out on about $800.
 
It's alright. I had a guy cancel on me last night for today...thanks a ton buddy! Second time he's canceled last minute and now I don't think I need his business.
 
Had this happen to me by the same guy lol twice. First time he answered and said he had a business trip and would pay me like 50 extra for the inconvenience. Second time he never answered or anything. I gave him a second chance since his brother who I detail all 3 of his cars told me he would like to get them detailed. Needless to say I will not make another appointment with him without and upfront payment.
