The Z5pro-Z2pro Held up like a champ over the winter.



Process:



Wash Z7

Clay Z18

Blackfire SRC finishing polish - polishing pad - PC @ 6

ZAIO

Z-CS - Paint, Trim, Windows, Glass, Rims, Exhaust

Z-8 Spray Seal



Z16 on tires, engine, and wells



Interior:



Vacuum

Folex

Leather - Z9 cleaner & Z10 leather condtitioner

Z26 on interior surfaces.

A few deep scratches on trunk remain for clear coat longevity reasons. Snow brush :mad:

Up next... TSX
 
Today's job. Acura TSX done last year. The owner maintained with Z6 + Z8 over winter. Unfortunately, the car was pulled through a brush car wash leaving many Deep scratches.



Process:



Z7 Wash

Z18 clay

HTEC/OPT polish @ 1500 rpm...... I need presta :(

Blackfire SRC , pc @ 6

Z-CS



Z16 on tires and wheels

ZPC and steel wool on exhaust

Great job on that caddy Greg. I also just wanted to tell you that I just used the new super intensive polish po83 (po85rd3.01) and it worked amazing on a foam polishing pad removing some major swirls. I was floored by the results and will be my new heavy polish of choice.



I know you like to use foam, so pick some of this up as you will be very impressed. I got it from detailersdomain.com. It's $49.95 for a 32 0z., but well worth it.

Greg, sometimes it is not the polish responsible for gumming up and/or skipping, etc. The same combo can work extremely smoothly on a decontaminated surface.



For me the HTEC pulls a gummy strip here and there for no apparent reason, but when I do a straight IPA wipedown before polishing, it doesn't happen that often.

Car looks really good, but have a question for you. When you use Z-CS on the trim, specifically on soft rubber moldings, how well do you find the product to work? Does it streak? Does it leave a dressed, or semi-dressed look? Does it blacken the trim a lot? How well does it hold up?

A little O/T here, but I completely agree here. I swore never to use #83 DACP again because of constant gumming issues, but I'm a sucker for punishment. So when a friend brought some over to have me help out polish his car, I used it, but tried something new. I divided the hood into three sections: 1 section was washed and clayed, another was wiped down with diluted apc, washed, and clayed, and the third second was decontaminated with ABC. On the washed and clayed section, I had gumming issues, drag when buffing, and just general problems with DACP. With the other two sections, DACP worked like a dream, so we ABC'd the entire vehicle, and I had not 1 single remaining issue with DACP, it even seemed to not dry up in the heat.

p.s. I'd be happy to send you the remainder of my DACP. I could never get it to work (for me) consistently, and gave up.

No thanks(I assume you're refering to my post?), it's not a product I'd use unless I have to(such as the above case,his car, my free time, so his products on his dime). I was merely providing an O/T personal experience that coincides with Bence's regarding gummy/finnicky product.
 
Thanks folks! I will definitely try some IPA prior to the HTEC in the future. I used the same combo on a vehicle yesterday and it worked like a champ. Go figure.



I didn't get to drive the TSX, but I know it has a few upgrades. New rims, exhaust, and a few additions under the hood.

Does this stuff hold its own against HTEC-Opt combo?
