Caddy NXT update

Yesterday I washed the Caddy I detailed on the 3rd of this month.



The car was washed twice by the owner since then so a total of 3 washes. I don't know what he used but the NXT shows no signs of degrading .. it is still beading and very glossy.



I did reapply to the nose of the car as the bugs got to it a bit . We have river moths up here and when you hit them they leave a little bump about the size of a pencil lead and if not removed in a day or so will even eat SG.



So all in all NXT is holding up very well.

I have done a number of vehicles with NXT. I have to get around to checking their durability.
 
I began to wash an Alero (began as in the weather guessers were completely wrong as usual and it started to rain) today that I had waxed with NXT (no polish, just a one step job) on May 14th. Still beading very nicely, excellent appearance and decent slickness too. I've washed it once myself since it was waxed (QEW) and the owner has sprayed it off a few times at a coin-op. Covered parking in the day and he drives it to Oklahoma City twice a month so it isn't a garage queen.



Anyway, NXT is rapidly becoming my one step product on paint in good condition.
 
As a newbie to the site, I have gathered enough information to try the NXT on my Dark Bronzemist Metallic 03 Grand Prix GT. The car only has 7,000 miles and has been garaged most of the time. It has never really had a good waxing and I would like to give the NXT a try. What do you recommend as a step by step procedure? What is the best applicator and what's best to remove the NXT? Thanks in advance for the help!

If you think your paint is in good enough condition to get by with a one step product NXT should work fine.



Apply NXT to entire car with the applicator that comes in the package, wait a few minutes, (I believe the instructions call for 10-15 minutes) then remove with MF.



Let us know results.
 
I did the front, hood, top & deck lid. It looks & feels pretty good, but not as smooooooth as I would like. I am willing to buy the necessary goodies to bring it up a notch or two. I would like to buy a polisher--what type do you veteran detailers recommend?

(without breaking the bank.) What type of pad? How about a detailed procedure? Thanks!

Get a Porter-Cable 7336, or 7424 polisher. AS for the rest of your process I would recommend you wash with a good car wash soap, then clay your car (important step). Your could try a polish like Megs Swirl Free Polish, or #80 Speed Glaze, then follow up with the NXT. You should definitely notice a difference!

You must remember that I'm a rookie. What is exactly meant by clay the car. Is there a good site that describes in detail what the procedure is. Also, where is a good place to buy the PC polisher? Thanks!
