C230 Kompressor

Troy@Protekt

a.k.a. Troy@DetailCity
I did this one at Christmas time. My daughter is a budding photographer so she took the pics.

I know the afters aren't really showing off the transformation. No close-ups and they were in the shade. Trust me the paint came out very good.

She took about a zillion pics of the washing and befores of the interior but we forgot to take afters of the interior so they are useless.

Products used -

Four Star Wheel Cleaner Gel
Poorboy's Super Slick-n-Suds
DP clay bar
Poorboy's Spray & Wipe for lube
DA with LC ccs orange foam pad
Four Star Ultimate Scratch & Swirl Remover
Ultima Trim Guard
Ultima Paint Guard
Stoner's MSLT Tire Coating
Stoner's Invisible Glass

The paint came out very well. It was an abused daily driver so I didn't bother perfecting it past using the scratch & swirl remover.

The whole detail took just under 3 hours and the customer was very happy.

Nice.
Would have liked to see some closer shots of paint to see how the swirl removal went (even though you said it wasnt perfect)
nice sun reflection

By the time I got to polishing the paint it was in the shade. The camera wasn't going to be able to show much. I have a halogen flashlight but even that won't show what the sunlight will. I never moved the car.

I picked up a very nice account yesterday. As soon as I figure out how to get the pics off my phone I will post them. I need to get more focused on taking better pics. My phone was all I had and I should have had my camera with me. :wall

I did a black Bentley Continental GT that was in awful shape because it sits out and it's his daily driver.

I also did his Ferrari F430 and his wife's Jaguar Convertible XK.

He has a Lamborghini and a Vanquish I will be doing next week.

I will make sure I take my camera and get some good shots.;)

I'm sure Black Hole is a great product but I don't like using glazes. I don't want my customers coming back to me saying it looked great after you did it but a few days later everything showed up again. This is no knock on Poorboy's stuff. As glazes go I bet it is one of the best out there I'm just not a fan of glazes.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... just under 3 hours?! How in the heck did you do all that in less than 3 hours? Perfection or not, that is efficient.

I have a good system. The wash and prep took me about 45 minutes. The interior another 45 minutes. Paint polishing and finishing about an hour leaving a half hour to do windows, trim and doing final wipe downs.

My target customer is not going to want me to spend all day on their car. I also find it much easier to find customers willing to spend $150 on a detail rather than $300+.

I didn't use a rotary. I didn't follow the Scratch & Swirl remover with the Final Polish. This customer wasn't looking for that. Some might look at it as cutting corners but I'm giving the customer a good job at a good price. I might be a little biased but my work is quite a bit better than any of the other mobile guys in my area.;)

Looks great!! deep shine and awesome reflection. If you didn't use a rotary, did you use a PC. Also did which pad with the scratch and swirl remover?

Yes I used the PC but I think I will be retiring it now that I have a FLEX when it comes to paint correction anyways. I used a PC (DA) with a LC CCS orange foam pad.

Is the green stuff the four star gel?I have to try it now..

I have the dumb assumption that if it cleans wheels and is green it HAS to work:crazy:

Troy...that four star wheel cleaner...I used some years back...remember that I liked it...how's it compare with others?

seem the gel clings to the surface...is that so?

+3 on the wheel cleaner. In search of a safe wheel cleaner for my own heath, been using P21s gel but the cost is high. You need a helper Troy?

Yes that's it.

I've always used bulk wheel cleaners from Car Wash Suppliers some better than others. So I can't compare it to the other wheel cleaners (P21S, Wolfgang, Poorboy's etc...) I've switched to it because it is very safe and effective for a non-acid wheel cleaner. I love the "cling" ability (it doesn't dry on the wheel) and smells good.

Four Star's Wheel Cleaner Gel isn't any cheaper. Four Star makes some 5 gallon pails for some of us local detailers which makes it more cost effective, especially when you dillute it like I do.

As far as needing a helper, when I do, I rope Sheila into helping me these days. If I run into something I need more help for I will keep you in mind. ;)

Sold me with that!Everything I was looking for,the wheels are my favorite thing to do and that's exactly what I want.:bigups

How much do you dilute?

Hats off to you Troy nice efficient detail in good time! I've been trying to get down to the 3 hour mark myself for the $150 jobs they are definitely popular nowadays.
