C Quartz finest and Gyeon MOHs

ylu enjoy your weekend as well. What product did you use on the applicator you tossd.

CQUK, suede mini cloth wrapped around the block that came with the kit. Hence why in my post I know that the CQF was being discussed so I disclosed I used CQUK.

Opti Coat 2.0 I used the yellow foam applicator. That hardened too. LOL!

CQUK hardens very quickly, I have 3 applicator I checked from last weekend. I do swear by CQ UK honestly. The NY weather loves it.

I do honestly. My swedebrick loves this weather, as do my nice 245 blizzaks and boost loves cold :D

Hot water tap going in the garage this week.

Edit: WE NEED a good 4 ft of snow so I can test out these blizzaks!

Not sure about the other product...
I can only speak from experience. ...I coated over 100 cars in 2014....using C quartz...I never experienced the suede going that limp or soft...just saying

.

I will only say that the creating of this thread was doomed from the start and whether it was intended or not, it clearly came off as trying to take a shot at CQF. I view the stiff applicator comparison the same way I view hard, cured coatings in a little plastic cup and plastic lighter videos....marketing gimmicks.

That being said, I've heard Gyeon is a nice product, but I'm happy with my current offerings.

Validation ?????

I've not had any negative effects of the coatings mentioned. Do you drive in the winter crud? So far the modesta has been great, I like how easy it is to clean off the winter grime.

IN my experience with the two coatings Modesta turned the product applicator MUCH harder than any other coating I've every used. Modesta is MUCH more time consuming to apply properly, and you should use the paint prep before the coating, this is 300+$ just in product to apply to a car. So I have to question if your guy can really apply, properly prep, and paint correct for the price you mentioned above. I think most people will be great applying CQF and have years of happy results. The gloss of CQF is stunning, the preformance is outstanding. With ALL coatings their is still some yearly or biyearly processes to clean and maintain the coatings…..these are, not in my opinion, slap them on and forget them for years.

Cheers,
GREG

From a car forum

And I believe he is an authorized finest installer

From someone who doesn't detail for an income, doesn't use CQ or Geyon or whatever it's called:

1. The initial post did seem to me like a slam on CarPro. Yes, I've slammed products that I thought were crappy, but I'm not in the business of detailing cars. Probably not the best thing to do if your buisness dropped / was dropped / parted ways with/by CQ for Geyon- or, again - whatever it's called.

2. People are going to moan about minimum advertised prices if they are doing this for a living, because there is always going to be someone someplace likely offering what is perceived to be a same/similar product to the customer for less. IMHO you should be able to instal the product for whatever price you like

3. I'm glad I don't detail for a living because all this seems like a PIA.

I've had great experiences with CQ UK on many cars. That said if I do jump to another coating it will be Modesta. I've only heard rave reviews and had the pleasure of talking with with them. They definitely seem to be on top of their game. As a someone who used to detail for a living I will say Modesta would be very hard to sell unless you have the upscale clientele with the wallets to back it.

I would encourage you to look at Gtechnig Exo. It's slick, easy enough to apply and gives a great year of top performance and another year as it declines. I don't top or restore my coatings so it coat and then just wash.

Pm me if you want to talk about my experice.

It interests me for the vette. It does seem to give the deeper look like uk.

For anything else, for me it's Black Label. Works great, EASY to apply. Done a bunch of cars with it.

Ron, what's your experience with the durability of BL on paint?

I'll let ya know soon.

My taho hasn't been touched since the last time I posted it.

It's lookin kinda flat, but that's probably dirt (cuz i'm lazy). Last week when I took my kid to the airport, I got a rock chip in the windshield. Yesterday while on way to go get him, I got sprayed with concrete from a smaller concrete truck. (enough to make a wiper tear this am). So I guess I really need to wash it well and look.

It's been on for about a year, so it'll be a good test

I've got a client that's had it on her car for over a year now.

I've been meaning to write a 1 year update but our schedules haven't been cooperating. Hopefully soon.

Well I didn't wash it. Mother nature did. (no soap, just a good hard rain)

So should look pretty good with a real wash

Applied Mohs about 24 hours ago. The suede applicator cloths look nothing like in the OP. My used suedes look and feel silky smooth and just as supple as the unused ones that I purchased along with the kit.

Just read through this topic, so I will reply on my experience

First of all, @Ronkh, the reason licensed cquartz detailers respond more here is because finest can only be used by them. So an enthousiast can't answer or compare.
I am not licensed for carpro, but have had the opportunity to work with finest about 2 years back. I also use cquk and many other coatings on the market. Finest and cquk have always given me a hard applicator cloth. So the first pic has to be a bash or a users error.
I have used other coatings that don't turn the applicator cloth hard and they still protected for 2 yeara without any top up or QD or whatever. Only washed with a shampoo without wax or gloss enhancers. So even if it was correct, it still means nothing. Resin based coatings don't go hard like glass or krystalise. So it means nothing.

Never used gyeon, mainly because if a manufacterer needs to put his coatings in a fancy package to sell them is just lame. And don't think your not paying the packaging...
