Buying my First Home.. the garage is already semi finished need oppinions

as you can see OP, this is exactly the type of topic you will get MANY different answers for. my opinion, use google to look at lots of pictures of other people's garages and keep your receipts from Lowes, they will let you return anything. try it out, if its not what you like, return the lighting, etc...otherwise, get a nice stereo system, a TV with ESPN on constant, and some cold beer in a mini frig. quickly, you will fall in love with whatever setup you have, because its YOURS. and congrats, really proud of you for taking the home-ownership plunge.

Lights are good but a pit is really handy too.
An electrical box in the pit is even better.
Can you get a jackhammer in, break up the floor, and install a pit?
The topside lighting is good, but don't forget about the underside and the underside needs attention now and then. If you're really talented, you could embed a beer fridge into the pit.
The thoughts of a mancave within a mancave makes me giddy.

You'd be the envy of all mankind.

Minifridge is a must ! the stereo also shouldn't be a problem since my wife hates my Bose super big speakers that I bought long before she came along. The pit and or lift would be nice but doubt I can dig through Carolina Clay.
The problem is i don't know just how much light is enough and or too much ! Its good to know Lowes has a easy return policy.

Thanks for the ideas everyone ! always nice to hear options from people who have been there.

Yeah, I find myself sorta missing the lift I had in the previous shop and that gets me thinking coulda/woulda/shoulda on the pit. BIG hassle though and I wonder how often the typical guy/Autopian will need it. Noting that I do undercarriages at every wash and do minor maintenance and suspension work/etc. on some of my cars, I actually get by just fine with just a few good floorjacks and lots of stands.

My biggie is all about the FLOORDRAIN, I simply couldn't live without it and the expense of it (oil separator/etc. to meet code) was worth every single penny to me.

I got the stereo, the fridge...and I never use either one. NEVER *once* when I'm detailing, might turn on the tunes if I'm just hanging out in the office. Funny how I was so certain I'd *need* those things and was wrong about it.

Where is your panel located?

You can always run another feed to a new sub panel in your garage.
If the panel is in the garage its not hard to get a different panel for more circuits.

Panel is located at the left rear of the garage along the left wall. I could make another spot a dual breaker if needed. But i think I will get an electrician to handle re wiring the garage !
