Buying a small compact car, what would you choose?

Chevrolet Cobalt. As a new design replacement for the cavalier (which was a good car for all around transportation), it should provide a lot of standard features and reliable transportation IMO.

Edit: The 2.2 ecotec is a direct descendant from the 2000-2005 cavalier line. It is very dependable.

Check out the Ion then. Besides the clusters being in he middle of the dash, everything else seem to be pretty good.

I also saw a Chevy HHR today at a local fair. It looks pretty good inside and out. I just don't know how realiable it is.
