I have over 100 coats of Z on the SS over the last few years. I wanted to try the SMR on it in a few places to see if it got better, I didnt do the best prep when I started with the Z a few years back. I just did the Nose of the SS went over it a few times with a yellow pad and speed on 5. Then I added a few coats of ZFX/5. I think that it came out good......

Does it look better than before? Or about the same? I'm in the same boat and didn't do the best prep when starting Z (did clay but no abrasive). The car looks fine after over 20 coats of Zaino and I'm debating whether to go SMR step with PC. If it's not going to look much better then I rather avoid abrasive!

William~

I think that it helped, The nose had crap left on there from before that wasnt removed. I didnt know then what I know know:( so it was under all the Z.

I would say if you didnt prep Really GOOD before you started with the Z process it is well worth it.......

Think........ I just wasted who knows how much money and time:( but I think that it looks better:)

<em class='bbc'>but then I am a little picky LOLaoalaoalahahaha[/i]

hey bill I just noticed something...... is it just me or is the camaro emblem a little bit off center on the nose?? look at the last picture you posted, it kinda looks like the emblem is off to the extreme passenger side of the center hood line. :nixweiss

I was called upon to fix a bumper scuff. Buffed the damaged area and everything turned out fine, except for a pea size portion where paint had chipped off. I used touch up paint from the dealer. Added two coats. My question is about buffing this touched up area. Is there anything that one can do to make it look it a bit better?

You need to wet sand, but be careful as the paint on bumbers are thin and soft.

I agree paint is thin on poly bumper. I was trying to avoid wet sanding in the event that things do not work as planned, I might be stuck with a repaint..yikes!

I was thinking of a 1500 grit followed by M205.
