Bulk Sealant recommendations please

I currently use EX-P as my sealant because it's fairly cheap, easy to use, and looks great. I have found that it leaves places that need to be buffed after about a week or so and I really don't like it. Makes me think that my customers see it and think "he missed a spot" when I actually didn't. Also, the durability of EX-P doesn't seem to be that impressive.



Because of this I'm looking for a new sealant. Right now I'm looking at wolfgang although I've never used it before. I really like the fact that I can get wolfgang in bulk although it does cost more then EX-P. I'm open to anything but I would like something that I can use as a last step product and that will amaze the customers.



So what would you recommend or what do you use and like? Thanks.
 
Klasse SG is the best and you use less. It's the best sealent out there. I bought a 34oz bottle for $22. Use SONUS for a coupon code and save 15%. My family and I have been using Sonus for a decade or longer. You only have to use a dime size 3 or 4 times a whole car. If you want the best results leave the SG on for 24 hrs, so it cures totally. You get better coating. Remember to put it on lightly. You might even of seen it going on, till it dries.

I don't know if Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant is out yet but you may also want to try that. It is supposed to work great via machine.



Klasse SG is a great product but for some people it is a bit finicky. I've never had any problems with it though.

The Klasse Twins are staples in my shop. Use them every day. However, we expect a minor amount of "blooming" on , maybe, 50% of the cars.



By 'blooming' I mean the reappearance of a slight haze, or cloudyness, in an area where you are certain that you removed the haze. We now advise clients of the phenomenon, and even give them a MF and bottle of QD.



Turns out, it is a great PR move, giving us a chance to encourage proper care, and the client feels as if they received that 'extra touch/added value.



Btw, 4 months from now, they'll look at their shine and remember Jimmy Buff-It!

I was recently in the same boat as you in trying to find a good sealant to buy in bulk. Well I ended up with UPP. I am pretty impressed with it overall but the deciding factor was how easy the product is to use. Very easy to remove and I find less issues with spots that need to be addressed afterwords than with any other sealant.



I think a gallon is $55 which should go a really long ways.

I didn't know that you could get UPP in gallons but I think I'll go ahead and give it a try. I use AIO a lot but it's not quite as easy to use as the EX-P and it's also very expensive but I'll get some SG and see how that works as well. Thanks for the replies.
 
Good post, was thinking about a sealant myself. One's I have been considering UPP, EX-P, EX-P+ (not sure when it's coming out, but have heard good things about it).

Klasse, even in its standard size bottles, is rather economical and goes a long way. Does the "blooming" refer to SG curing on the paint?
 
Bill D- Yeah, it's like finding a spot you failed to buff off.



I never had this happen with my "wait overnight before buffing" approach, but since I got rid of the Volvo I can't always let the MPV sit that long. I still let it set up for a few hours though.



Last wash I found a spot on the hood where it looked like I'd missed buffing it off. But it was in an area (near the wiper nozzles) that I *know* I did thoroughly (and I'd been messing with the nozzles and would've seen it while doing that). First time it's ever happened to me after years of using KSG, makes me more convinced than ever that letting it set up overnight is the best method for me. Not too practical for many people though, especially pros.
 
Poorboy's EX w/carnauba is also an excellent choice. No need to let it set up, looks great on all colors (especially dark) and for me, it has been very durable. 4-6 months and with noticable surface slickness.
 
Joburnet: WOW did the price of UPP go up. I heard that 4* was raising their prices but MAN was that a huge jump. I purchased a gallon of UPP from Ranny @ pakshak a month ago and the price with my autopian discount was right about $58 plus shipping. I'll check my reciept tonight if you would like the exact cost. I think that previously the price from premiumautocare was 64.99 or 69.99 and after you figure in discounts it could be had for around $60 as well.



$100 is a huge jump and had I not purchased it last month I'm not sure that I would have spent that much for a gallon of sealant.

Just thought I'd add this about EX w/carnauba that makes it great especially if you are mobile We all know it works fine in the sun but it is also a breeze to use on days like today when it was 35 and near 100% humidity. Applied to the whole vehicle then removed. Not a single streak, smear etc anywhere. Wiped off just as easily as it does on 80 degree days with 10% humidity. :)

Not that I have ever noticed. I do go over any crevices, body seems and door edges and the like to make sure no residue is left but I do that with all products
 
I like to use Granitize GS-1 Paint Sealant. I never see any one talk about it on the boards. Maybe it's a California thing? I don't live there any more. However I still use this product to finish off all my details. It sells for around 70.00 a gallon

Ron-do you have any more information about Granitize you'd like to pass along? Ease of use, durability, etc. Not what their website might say but what your experience has been.
 
When you apply it with a pc it makes the finish very slick.



Will keep its slick feel for a couple of weeks.



Will keep water beading for two to three months. I never let any cars go longer than that.



It dose not like direct sunlight.



Almost no dusting.



Goes on easy & comes off easy.



Hides a little.



I started topping it with the Optimum and it feels extras slick.

I donâ€â„¢t do any layering with the exception of the Optimum so I donâ€â„¢t know how it reacts with other products.
