Bug Scrub sponge safe for paint protection file (PPF) - Clear Bra?

I see it's stated that the Bug scrub sponge (yellow honeycomb brick-shaped) is safe for painted and clearcoated surfaces. After some poking around I can't find anything about whether it is safe on PPF or not? I'm thinking not and I don't really want to find out the hard way LOL.

I've got expel ultimate on my car.

I used sponge on the painted surfaces, but on the nose where ppf is I used the pb bug micro towel. But since ultimate is supposed to be self repairing, I probably should have given it a shot.

is that a poor boys product? I don't see it on ag.

I don't get the claims that those bug sponges are safe for paint; I soaked mine (a few different ones, all seemed the same except for the brand/label) in warm shampoo solution for a long time, and they still marred up a CD so badly that I'd *NEVER* touch paint with them.

I do use 'em on windshields though.

I'm utterly "WT...." about this potential for marring, but I.. uhm...ASSume you guys aren't marring up your paint with the things...

I used my yellow brick once and will NEVER use it again. Only thing I would ever use is something like this:SONAX Insect Sponge

XxBoostinxX- Ah, that Sonus thing is interesting, thanks for posting it.

I've used the ValuGard Bug Pad on Ford clear without issues, which sorta surprised me (car was being corrected anyhow). But I usually just use a sorta-weird MF, like a form of waffle-weave, that some vendor gave me as a freebie...can't remember who it was, maybe Cory or the guys at PakShack.

Mine didn't pass the CD test either, and before that i had used them for lower panels around the whole car...never again.

This is what it looks like

Hope you guys appreciate it, I had to go thru 95 pages of photobucket to find it

hahah i certainly do man, i only see the damn sponges and was not aware of this towel, will be buying a couple to have plenty as a backup. Thanks again!

Here is a detailed picture for all those interested in the Mesh Bug Microfiber (or as I like to call them the Reebok short micros haha)

They work great as a throw in to the wash bucket just like Ron showed you and they come clean of all the bug guts when swished around in the water a bit.
