Hi everybody,
Today I got my bottle of the old formulation of Black Again, which bretfraz so generously sent to me. Thanks alot Bret!
In the past I've been using Mothers Back to Black, and it works ok until it the area its applied to sets in the sun for a few hours or is washed. This is especially bad on the posts on either side of the rear glass. I followed the label instructions and put it on using constant vertical swipes, and after a while it started to "soak in" and really look nice, and it worked very fast even though it was 35-40 degrees. I did the two rear posts and two on the front doors and took some comparison shots.
In his picture it is obvious which post has been treated:
After the product was finished drying it was a very dark black that had a nice glossy look to it, enough I could see my reflection and make out colors and other things, which you can tell in this picture, fairly clearly. On the left post you can see two of the supports for the side of the shop, you can make out some of my fingers, and my hair looks darker. This is not the case on the other side:
And one last picture. I didnt take any before shots of this one, due to dead batteries in my camera, but here is an after. Any Explorer owner knows how bad an area this is to keep clean and looking good. All the dust that comes down the tailgate collects on the bumper and underneath the lip of the liftgate, so it is naturally a dirty spot with ground in dirt and grime. Here is what it looks like after being treated twice:
And thats it
