Bug Remover Comparison Test

I've been using Bug Bugger for over a year now. I dilute it in a quart size sprayer with a foaming tip. After initial rinse, I foam the affected area and allow it to soak while washing the top of car, then wash the buggy area after that. I've never had a trace of guts left behind.

BTW, thanks Todd!...If that's what Max makes you do for a paycheck, you're way underpaid. :)

I love cleaning bugs! :bigups:rofl

Thanks for the tip with Bug Bugger! That's what makes this forum great IMO.

Nice test Todd. I've used PB for a while now and I've been happy with it. I just got the bug sponge to try but haven't used it yet I have a sample of Tar X i need to try out also.

I like trying different stuff for bugs because I hate using too much agitation.

Make sure to keep me informed on how it works!

Is it safe to assume that all of these products strip the LSP?

The 1Z Anti Insekt description says it does not, any idea if that's actually true?

After reading the review I got a bottle of the Dodo Juice. I'll post a short review after I get a chance to give it a try. It's weather dependent where I live at right now. 20 degrees and snowing right now.

We need a spray to make this snow go away. As for the bugs, maybe ill have to try that bug sponge out.

To be honest I would have to test it. I'll give it a shot and report back.

I've always assumed that it does strip LSP. It's not too hard to reapply LSP to those areas or use a spray wax like Optimum or sealant like BF Deep Gloss Spray Sealant.

Sweet - thanks. I've mostly stayed away from bug/tar removes since I assumed they were more-powerful-than-dawn-like stripping agents.

I haven't found dawn to strip all LSPs. However, in follow up testing, the bug and tar removers I tested did significantly reduce or eliminate water beading so follow up waxing is always a good idea.

This was a great write-up and it reminds me that I'm going to need something for bug and tar removal soon as I want to get out of the city and do some country driving.

Does anyone know how BF AIO All Purpose Clearner, at full strength, will do for bug removal compared to these tested products that are bug and tar specific?

Just curious, Jim

good info todd. one item that did not make the list is duragloss #471 bug remover. this is a gem for bug removal. will not strip sealant/wax. i made sure to include it in my last order. (should have got more).

and bug season is here! i have a jeep sitting in the driveway waiting for bug removal from the week. here is the link for a great product.....

BF AI1 AIO is pretty potent against exoskeletal remains. I haven't tried it directly against the products in this test, but it does extremely well (for me) against Florida's finest.
