Bug problem

Get your house inspected ASAP by a professional exterminator!

It doesn't appear to be in the house, they've set up "nest" in the seals, quite a common place for bugs etc to get in cars, this is just a serious infestation :(

You won't see their nests in the house and or garage. Termite damage is a very serious issue. By the time you actually see visual evidence of them inside or around your residence, you are likely to already have thousands (as in tens) of $$ of damage.

Involve a pro. Immediately. I have seen similar situations and the end results were frightening.

Good luck!

If they're on your car that is in the garage then you have an infestation somewhere in your house and/or garage.

Normal termites will die if exposed to the sun and get dry, that's why you see mud tunnels they construct to travel in if they are above ground. If they have wings then they are swarmer's from the nest looking for places to start a new colony. Either way I'd be very concerned about my house at this point. I'd leave your car out in the hot sun after getting as many off it as you can by using water, air, wiping, etc., and then I'd call in an exterminator to take a look and get ideas from. These may be a variety unique to your location and they'll know how to best deal with them. They could likely be inside your walls slowly eating your house as we type.

Orkin should be calling to set up an appointment. Im getting conflicting data though. I washed the car extremely thorough. Pressure washed all the seals/door jams/wheel wells wherever I remember they came from. I left the car overnight at a different residence and didnt find a single one. Back in my garage started seeing them again. Im not 100% sure theyre termites. Ill have orkin identify what they are and what needs to be done. Hopefully theres nothing living in the car itself.

Update: The bugs are like 90% gone. Seems like washing the car thoroughly and bombing the crap out of garage did the trick. Also it rained today and was sunny right after that so that mightve washed away most of them or kill them with the heat. Only found 2 tonight compared to the 20 I would usually find. :2thumbs: Still getting the house checked out though, free inspection why not. And im curious as to what those creatures were.

Glad to see you have someone coming to check it out.

Hopefully they were/are ants and you don't have to be concerned about termites. Given the size of the bugs, to an untrained eye, it's hard to determine body charecteristics to distinguish the difference between them.

Since it rained that could have helped your problem too. Normally you start noticing bugs like that when they are out searching for moisture.

They could be termites, ants or bed bugs (not just found in the bed!). Try looking at some pictures online to find out what they are so you know how to treat them better. Also, it might be a good idea to call an exterminator, but its not going to be cheap! This site might have some good info for you: Termite Control - How To Get Rid Of Termites

Good luck!

lol I know this won't help at all since this thread is around three years old but I was chuckling, thinking at least you don't drive a Corvette or a Morgan
