Buffing Small Areas with the Edge of PC Pad

What is the best way to polish (swirl removal) the edges of a wing or a door mirror with a PC? Even with a 4 inch pad, only a small portion of the pad has contact with the surface, I was planning on just keeping the speed low ( 2-3) and keep the pad moving. Should I try using the edge of a larger pad, like a 6.5?

I don't have a spoiler/wing but when I do polish door mirrors, I go about it as I normally would on any other surface of the car but move across its surface a little faster than usual.
