LOL, it's been discussed. It does resurface from time to time. I don't think you could get the paint completely with that but you could do some correction. I'd probably use it on a plane or something big and pure metal.
 
This and similar versions have been around for decades...
Dont see any use for it and dont even want to know what kind of media you could get if you can get it, and how much it costs..
For the amount of trouble it would be to control and use, I dont think it would ever be worth it - certainly not in a Shop setting...

Perhaps they use these on Greyhounds or Winnie's ???

I've seen this a number of times in the past. It makes me flinch every time I watch him go over the edge of that body panel.

definitely need some large flat panels for that to be much good. did you see that guy move the polisher sideways while moving it up and down? made me cringe.
 
I could see the usefulness of this tool on boats and airplanes. You would still need a smaller tool for tight spaces but this could be a huge time saver on them.
