-I placed an order on March 20 and called/emailed two days later as to why my order has not shipped yet

-I got no reply or a answer. I tried everyday last week and got nothing.

-Come March 26 I find my order shipped great (what happen to the same day/next shipping autopia guarantees?)

-Along with my shipping confirmation email their is a tracking number attached that when you enter it in USPS website it shows that is the item was shipped December 2010.

-Called again numerous times this week to see whats up, no answer

-Few days ago I get a three word reply saying the order is on its way (I dont think they bothered to read my email where I said the tracking number says December 2010 shipped)

-Yesterday I get a email with a new tracking number, but never get a reply to why my order took so long to ship or why I got a wrong tracking number in the first place.

I forgot to purchases a few items and wanted to add them before my package shipped but with them not answer their phone, replying to emails, nor updating the status of my order page I would go nowhere with adding additional items.

Not dealing with Autopia again.

Totally different site/store with different owners. I understand your frustration, but this Autopia is in no way related to the one you are having problems with.

Autopia Car Care Products - Car Detailing Supplies, Car Wax, Car Polishers, Auto Detailing

I registered on their forum last week and this week, but still waiting on admin to approve.

that's what i figured, and though they use the name "autopia" (yes, it's confusing to some who don't know what's going on and their font looks like the old one that used to be used on here) it has no affiliation with this forum or it's owners. autopiaforumsdotcom and autopiacarcaredotcom are in no way related to the one and original " Autopia.org " which is the site you are on now. thank goodness for that...

AMG,

This does not sound like any order we have. I get cc'ed on all sales emails and I have not seen a single email about your plight. Also, if you call between 8:30-5pm pst, someone will pickup the phone.

Are you sure this order was placed on this Autopia or was it the other "Autopia-carcare"

Can you pm me your order/contact information?

Thanks,

Ben

Edit: *opps* Didnt see your guy's responses. Didnt need to reply. :grinno:

It always suprised me the the name (Autopia) was not registered.

autopia FORUM™ is trademarked

This discussion has been had before. You can thank the original owners of Autopia for selling off the forum separate from the store giving each new owner some rights to the name. Both likely bought it in part for rights to use the name. Walt Disney started a ride in 1955 with the name Autopia.

But threads like this, just get the haters going again.

Thing is, the name Autopia IS registered/trademarked and that mark is owned by 3D. Serial Number 85338384. The trademark reads that it covers:

IC 035. US 100 101 102. G & S: In the field of auto detailing; provider of advertising and marketing services promoting the goods and services of others on-line communities and web pages; providing an on-line searchable database featuring classified ad listings. FIRST USE: 19991017. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19991017

IC 038. US 100 101 104. G & S: Providing an on-line forum for auto detailing users and enthusiasts to discuss car care detailing supplies, auto care products, cleaning techniques, polishing techniques and equipment in the field of car care; posting of vehicle images, question posting and answers, exchange of ideas. FIRST USE: 19991017. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19991017

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Providing an on-line computer platform in the field of auto care and detailing topic discussion, namely; educational guidebooks and reference guides, post vehicle images, posting user articles, blogs and non-downloadable publications, complication and archiving of frequently asked questions, posting of knowledge based collaboration materials. FIRST USE: 19991017. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19991017

What amazes me is that they turned around and issued trademarks to PBMA for "Autopia Forum" and "Autopiaforums" when clearly, those overlap with the coverages of 3D's trademark.

Right, and Disney still owns the trademark for Autopia which covers the use of that name for Amusement Park Services.

The "Autopia Car Care" trademark that was sold separately to PBMA covers:

IC 035. US 100 101 102. G & S: On-line retail store services featuring products for cleaning, polishing and detailing motor vehicles. FIRST USE: 19990421. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19990421

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Providing on-line publications in the nature of instructional guides in the fields of cleaning, polishing and detailing motor vehicles. FIRST USE: 19990421. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19990421

Discussion forums/marketing services isn't covered under that trademark.

Call it "haters" all you want, but when you really look at the coverages for the various trademarks it really calls into question what should and shouldn't be allowed with regard to the naming of the forums in particular. When it comes to the use of "Autopia Car Care" for a retail arm, 3D probably doesn't really have a leg to stand on due to the way those two businesses were split up by DavidB and the coverages under the separated trademarks.

Trademarking the names "Autopia Forum" and "Autopiaforums" for:

IC 038. US 100 101 104. G & S: Providing on-line forums for the exchange of messages among computer users concerning the cleaning, polishing and detailing of motor vehicles

Really seems to overlap with the original Autopia trademark; whether that is an infringement would be for a judge to decide, but it's definitely one of those things that makes you go "hmm..."

When you are looking up the trademark information, scroll down to see the actual filing date and that will explain it. Unfortunately, 3D didn't file until June 6, 2011, after PBMA filed for their trademarks. So there was no existing trademark to infringe upon.

It goes both ways... a company could come long and file a trademark things like The Guzzler or Xtreme Foam Formula. I don't see any trademarks on those products sold by PBMA. You would think that protecting these names would be important to a company but sometimes important things just don't get trademarked and then things like this happens...

I would certainly hope a judge would take into account the notation of "First use in commerce" instead of basing its entire decision on a minor technicality (this case is hardly cut and dried).

It's such a joke how all the AG leghumping nutswingers just sit back with this whole scandal thinking that AG did nothing wrong. I'm glad to hear that after all their underhanded and unethical tactics that that are obviously backfiring wth their separate business entities. They will never get any of my cash after they bought the Detail City forum and started calling it Autopia and also copying the real Autopia's look to trick new comers. That forum is now the biggest joke on the internet. They should call it AutoJokeOnline.com.

I do not think they are actually tricking anyone. Newcomers know nothing about autopia.org or autopiaforums.com and anyone who does figures it out quickly. There is nothing most of us can do about it so not worrying about it.

Interestingly when I do a google search on autopia. Autopia-carcare.com is top as a paid advertisement with autopia.org has the top search find. Autopiaforums does not make the first page without the paid ad. If I search on autopia forum, autopiaforum is a paid advertisement at the top with autopia.org as number 1 with autopiaforums number 5 on the list after some less interesting choices.
