Brush this out.

They speak of reaching "deep into wheel openings", although IMO the efficacy of that is somewhat muted by the short length of the business part of the brush.

Good catch Setec, I didn't really give the business end much thought. The stock 16's and 18's on my Audi are a PITA to clean with the wheels on.

My idea wheel brush would be made from the same material as these from CMA but styled like the Meg's corn cob one or the EZ Detail Brush.

Setec did you order one?

MorBid...I've got the set in my cart, but question whether the bigger one will really be any different/better than my $1.79 Quickie Dish and Glass Mop from the supermarket (which I don't think I have used yet...like a bunch of other stuff in my "museum" )

Your always a step ahead of me. I was just thinking to myself the other day "I wonder if one of those Quickie thingy's for dishes would make a a decent inside wheel brush"?

Well only one way to find out, I'll have a look at the selection today and if I think's it's a go I'll snatch one up.

Thanks dude, I must've missed it but will read it now. Anyway I never go to market on Saturday Morning. It's like a mad house.

:funnypost Geez Mike, sounds like some of my stuff. When I kick off and all my junk gets put in a yard sale for 25 cents each, some guys are gonna be saying, "it doesn't even look like he even used some of this stuff."

That's a good idea! I can think of some that have a handle with a ball of foam strips at the end that might work OK. Kind of like this but with a plastic handle:

Amazon.com: Lola Sponge Puff Glass and Dish Mop with Wood handle: Kitchen & Housewares

I bought one of those Power Puff things at Wal-Mart that Sean did a review on a while back, but I'm thinking a head like the one above might get into tight areas a bit better.

I'm in. I'll try this one Setec was talking about first cause I know the local Supermarket sell's Quickie's stuff. I have a personal distain for Wally World but will look for those Power Puff thingy's elsewhere.

I was going to pull the trigger on these Meg's Brushes on EBay but as I stated I'm less than thrilled with the cleaning ability of these but however they do let me reach the entire inside of the wheels which is better than most brushes I've found so far. Plus the price is right :)

MorBid, they had those Meg's wheel brushes at Big Lots for (I think) less than that ebay sale (I was condisdering buying some more, but I haven't used mine yet :o ).

Thanks for the tip, I didn't even know we had Big Lot's up here turns out there's a mess of 'em w/one about 10 min's from me.

Do you have to have some kind of membership to shop there like BJ's or Sams Club?

My current Meg's brush keeps losing that rubber tip and I'm frighten to death of scratching my Wheels. So I might just run over there.

No membership required. I hate Big Lots, but sometimes they have some decent car stuff...it's just not always at the cut rate price you'd expect for a clearance store. For example, the Meg's QD sponge, the list price was $3.99, a lot of places sold it for $4.99, I got some on clearance at AutoZone or Advance for $1.99, but Big Lots was selling them for $2.99. Since it's a discontinued item on clearance, I would have thought Big Lots would have been selling them for $1.99...

Yeah I see they list a lot of Meg's stuff. Only Pep Boys up here carries the "Detailer" and "Consumer" line's and Pep Boys isn't carrying the Brush anymore.

I was heading out to wash the Audi just now but since Big Lot's is so close I can pop over there first and see what's what.

'sides I've never been to one so I get to scope it out. Gotta keep the "database" current :)

Thanks for the help :)

When in doubt always check the home page of the web-store. It's right on there. ;)

If you end up buying one let us know how you like it. I'm curious if it's worth the $18. So far I've only heard one person comment on the brush and I always like to have multiple opinions.

Mikeyc,

I went to place an order for both 1" -2" brush..my main concern are my wheels are tight and a pita to clean so durability is an concern for me..I seen someone posted up a pic of the lambswool from pepboys..well i tried it twice before the wool slipped off the handle when detailing for others..not very durable.

I would like to know if anyone here has tried the 1" -2" brushes from BF .. as you can see from the pic.. the opening is narrow thus far needing something that can withstand the pushing and pushing thru the port holes ..

Thanks Setec again for the tip about Meg's Ultra Safe Wheel Brush at Big Lot's. They did have them for $2.99. I also got a Meg's All Surface Interior Brush and a Mr. Clean Pro Series Sheepskin Wheel Care Brush for the same price.

I pulled on the Mr. Clean brush as hard as I could to see if the sheepskin would come off and it didn't feel like it would like the others. I'll put it to use in a few.

I scoped out the rest of the store and came accross this Nikota 3HP peak vac/blower. It looks like the little master blaster people get to dry Bikes. It was only 40 smackers and the sales guy said if I wasn't happy with it I can bring it back so I got it too.

I have a Sears Wall Mounted 5.0 HP wet/dry vac but use it for vacuming so am very hesitant about using it for a blower. I also have a Industrial Air Compressor too that I use for Autobody work and painting but I still wanted something to knock off most of the water on the panels.

I can't find it on the web but will post some pics of the kit (it comes with all the right attachements and then some) if I think it's a keeper after using it today.

What a coincidence, I bought one of these on clearance at Target a year or two ago...and later today I'm planning on gluing the sheepskin back on :p I actually liked it a lot until it came apart a few weeks ago.

That sounds like the one that Bill D and some others got at Pep Boys a couple years ago.

I used the Mr. Clean brush as a follow up to the Meg's (the mr clean on won't fit in between the caliper and wheel on the 16's I'm rolling for winter. Seems to work well with my favorite wheel/tire cleaner (Turtle wax Platinum).

Vac-N-Blow that's what this Nikota looks like. For the price ($39.99) it's very well made (all steel body), lightweight, comes with a wall mount (that will hold and organize all the attachment's, and there are plenty), but most of all it does the job on known trouble spots (mirrors, head/taillights trim, grills, wheels/tires and all other nooks and crannies.

I did try it on the panels and like most other solutions (leaf blower, etc) it won't sheet the water off but did make them a lot easier to dry with a MF.

It was two chambers on each end so you need to move the hose depending if your vacuming or blowing.

I'll try to get a review w/pic's up if anyone is interested in seeing what it looks like.
