Bey, welcome aboard! What kind of car are we working on? Do you have a picture of the damage? What kind of brush are you using?

Got it. Thanks.

Can you see scratches in your photos? I don't believe I can.

What sort of brush are you using? What product are you using to clean the wheels?

sorry my mistake, the scratches are very visible in direct sunlight (the photo i took in the shadow, thats why its not, sorry!)

i have marked one of the scratches with red.... please see shortcut below

the scratches were caused by ez brush detailer and i am using sonax wheel rim star

the scratch:

cleaner:

SONAX Wheel rim -Star- :: Tyres, Rims, Rubber :: Products :: Car Care - SONAX - cleaning and polishing like a professional

brush:

EZ Detail Wheel Brush - Clean Your Car

OK, I have that brush, too. I'm not using it on the face of the wheel. I limit it strictly to the inside of the wheel. For the face of the wheel I'll use a sponge or a soft brush, certainly not the brush you are showing.

Good news! Light scratches can easily be polished out with something you may already have in your inventory. Do you have a mild polish? You may also consider sealing the wheels with a durable product. That will offer a bit of protection.

I don't recognize that Sonax product. What country are you writing from?

i am from istanbul/turkey

yes, unfortunately i have not much experience and used the brush on the face of the wheel!!!

thanks for the good news

in my inventory i only have:

Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax (Liquid Wax) | eBay

if this is not the right one, shall i purchase below product for the scratches?

https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/optimum-metal-polish-8oz/prod_780.html

or shall i go and buy that one instead:

https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/poorboys-wheel-sealant/prod_9.html

in any case, thanks very much for helping me and boosting my morale!

It's entirely possible the NXT wax could hide the scratches. You'll need a gentle polish to remove them. The Optimum Metal Polish (great product) is not the correct solution. You need to think of the wheels surface as being the same as the body of the car. You are dealing with paint and clearcoat, not metal.

I guess if you have to order, I would look at these two:

Meguiars Scratch X - Clean Your Car

Finish Kare 1000P Hi-Temp Sealant - Clean Your Car

There are many other choices at that website. I selected these two to keep the cost low.

You could probably skip the FK 1000p and use your NXT wax after using the ScratchX. However, the 1000p sealant is a tough product and well-suited to use on wheels. You will love its appearance on the body of the car :)

In the future, use these brushes for the wheels. They will make it very easy to keep them clean and get into those narrow parts:

PB Wheel Woolies | PB Car Care & Detailing Products

The site is in the UK so shipping won't be as bad as shipping from the USA.

I have this set and you'll like them much better than the EZ brush. Small one for narrow places, big one for big surfaces. You'll be surprised how well they clean the back of the rim too.

Good luck,

tom, thanks very much for your all your replies and great help!

It's our pleasure!

Let us know how else we might be of help. Also, I would put a DA polisher on your wish list :) It sounds like you are trying to keep your new car in perfect condition and the polisher will be a great aid.
