Broken Bottle!

About a month ago I had a bottle of Eagle One wheel cleaner that fell from about six feet onto concrete and busted wide open. Because of the circumstances I didn't think too much of it. I wasn't happy about it breaking, but, I was willing to give the bottle the benefit of any doubt because of the circumstances. Today I had a Megs QD bottle (16 oz) I had just filled last night with PB S&W fall from my desk onto a padded carpet inside a plastic grocery bag with a few MF towels. It busted wide open as well :wall

One thing they both had in common is they are vinyl bottles and seem to be very brittle.

From now on I'm going to be using the HDPE bottles.
Unless anyone has a better idea.

Anyone else ever had this experience?

the V #3 is PVC and considered a strong bottle and is used for its resistance to grease, oil, and chemicals ...widely used ...PP or Polypropylene is also a great choice, as we use them for products that are poured hot, they are also resistant to chemicals and gasses.

California mandated about 2 years ago that bottles be made of less plastic to reduce waste in landfiills. I guess they didn't realize it's the shape of the bottle, not how much it weighs that determines the amount of room it takes up.

Anyway, it meant thinner bottles, and therefore, they're more likely to break when dropped.

It has improved somewhat in the last year, so it's likely the bottles were from that short period of time.

As Poorboy said, you need to use a bottle material of the type compatible with the liquid in it, or the bottle may weaken and dissolve.
