For people in the Lower Mainland, where is the cheapest place to purchase a Porter Cable 7424?

The Lowes store in Bellingham.

While down there, stop by a PBE store and get a backing plate and foam pads to go with the PC.

I know you're asking about borders and importing and gst with an American purchase, but as a reference, here in Vic. the PC 7336 (6 inch version) retails for around $200 Canadian, taxes extra of course.

If you're in Victoria, the tool place/saw place on Bridge St. has them, and carcaresmart in Burnaby has them for about $190 Can.

thxs I'll also give that place a shot too..

There's no duty on PC.. but GST/PST. since PC is made in USA. I got mine from Lowe's for $108 USD.. I didn't got taxed when I come back. Anyway, with the exchange rate that low for us.. you are looking at around $145CAD if they tax you.. + gas money.

yea I know its pretty cheap, thats why I'm probably goin to purchase one soon..

Places like Downtown Auto Spa charges about 200ish for the PC7424 before tax...

Update:

Went down to Seattle, stayed overnight at my friends house. Purchased a PC 7336SP for about 109 USD before tax. After tax it came to $118.xx USD

Hopefully when the weather is warmer, I'll purchase some more products (polish, pads, etc.) and try it out on my mom's car first...

i used to live in burnabay 12 years ago just round the corner from the royal oak skytrain station

I went through Vancouver last spring as I returned from a black bear hunt in North central B.C.! I would love to hunt blacks on the island though!

Today I went around to look for 3k Grit Sandpaper at Home Depot, Rona and Canadian Tire and the closest sand paper I got was 2k from CT.

Does anybody know where I can find 3k sandpaper?

What about asking at a body/paint shop or going to a place that sells body shop supplies? Or is that too simplistic? ;)

I used to live in Burnaby, a long time ago. Now I am somewhat south of there, by a lot.

I found 2500 Grit Wet Sandpaper at Lordco, I think it should be ok to sand the touch up paint down to level with the oem paint. Then use SSR 2.5 by hand to remove the marring then use SSR1
