Brinkmann Dual Xenon Light Disappointment

On Saturday it almost reached 60 deg. Decided to wash and apply 2nd coat of Z. Tried to get out early but as I was washing a neighbour came over admiring the car. Right in the middle of washing a panel. Well after we talked I washed the whole car again cause I could see water spots. I tried to apply Z6 and that went on OK. I then tried to apply Z2 with a foam applicator by dabbing first and than spreading it out but by the time I got back around ( it was only a 2 foot sq. section) it was already drying and hard to spread out. I moved the car in the garage and carried on. Even the Zaino site says you can apply in shade or direct sunlight. How is this poosible?

I applied Zaino to my flat black bimmer last summer in direct sunlight with decent results. It's a lot harder to apply the coats really thin and doing the "dabs all over the panel" technique might not be a good idea. You just need to allow for thicker application and a tad bit more elbow grease when buffing.

Is there a secret on how to use this light? I may be doing something wrong but I don't find the value in it. I get better results from using the flourescent light above hanging from the ceiling. Please advise. Thank you. :banghead:

Some colors of paint can be a little tricky. Try different angles and on lighter colors try using just one bulb instead of both. There are some paints I have found it is much easier to just stick with the halogens. Also, make sure you have no other light source as that can affect the contrast.

I have a black car and white car. it works fine on both although the defects show up far better on the black car

I love mine.......some metallic colors make it hard to see swirls, but other then that....its a point and shoot!

I prefer an LED for metallics, held about 4'-5' from the paint surface. I use my 1000w halogen work lights to spot RIDS, and my brinkmann xenon for general swirl finding.
