I heard the Zaino leather conditioner makes the car smell brand new again and is the best product out there.

But at the same time, I also heard the Griots leather conditioner is also the best by far.

Which perception is more accurate?

I haven't tried the Zaino but I've used the Griot's quite a bit. It has a "leather store" smell, which isn't how my cars with leather interiors smelled orginally. It's OK but not any better functionally than Pinnacle (chich smells about the same) or other decent leather treatments. Sure not bad though.

Unless your car smelled like a leather goods shop when you got it, I wouldn't expect the Griot's to make it smell like new ;)

There are a lot of different-smelling leather treatments out there, including Lexol, Leatherique, Zymol, that have non-leather-store smells. Hard to say which one you'd like best.

IMO the only way to find the leather treatment that works/smells/etc. the way you want it to is to try different ones. I'm using different stuff on the S8, A8, and Jag and will end up using who-knows-what on the other leather interiors (if I ever get them back from the mechanics  ).

I haven't tried it yet, but I got some Leatherique to try on the good cars. No idea what it'll smell like, but it's extremely popular with people in the Jag and Rolls Royce clubs who use it on Conolly leather, which is *not* supposed to smell like a luggage store.

leatherique is a really strong smell..kinda more towards the leather store rather than a new car

its good stuff, but i need a new magic tree to drown out the smell

WOW. I heard Griots was superior, but according to the poll, I guess Zaino is what the best is in terms of scent.

Well, guess it depends on what you define as "best". For *me* the best would be a neutral scent.

The "Jaguar" labeled stuff I used in my wife's A8 smells like soap (literally like a bar of soap but I can't say which brand), very different from most leather dressings. Pretty potent when freshly applied (I left it parked with the doors open for a few days) but now that it's faded it's a nice clean scent. Not "new-Audi" scent, but nice.

Ya, I love the zaino smell but some people have mentioned it's too strong. By far the reaction I get most when new folks sit in my car is "ahh, new car leather smell", which I guess is good.

When I come in the house after using zaino, which I used to wear rubber gloves while applying, my cat gets all wierd and pie eyed :shocked

Zaino is great, I like it best when I used a cleaner like lexol before hand.

I guess I'm one of the few who prefers Griot's over Zaino. Zaino is just too strong of a leather scent for me.

Got Zaino too and it does have that plastic outgassing/leather type of smell...at least to me. It seems to keep the car interior "fresh." At first I wasn't sure about the smell because it was on the strong side compared to my Lexol, but once applied it to settle nicely after a few days.

My new cars didn't smell like leather either! I haven't used Z10, but I can't imagine a stronger leather scent than Griot's which is what I use right now.

Actually, I use 303 2-3 times a year on it and Griots a few times a year.
